Rush wants privacy for his private parts

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- Rush Limbaugh was detained for more than three hours Monday at Palm Beach International Airport after authorities said they found a bottle of Viagra in his possession without a prescription.

Customs officials found a prescription bottle labeled as Viagra in his luggage that didn't have Limbaugh's name on it, but that of two doctors, said Paul Miller, spokesman for the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.

A doctor had prescribed the drug, but it was "labeled as being issued to the physician rather than Mr. Limbaugh for privacy purposes," Roy Black, Limbaugh's attorney, said in a statement.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection examined the 55-year-old radio commentator's luggage after his private plane landed at the airport from the Dominican Republic, said Miller.

The matter was referred to the sheriff's office, whose investigators interviewed Limbaugh. According to Miller, Limbaugh said that the Viagra was for his use, and that he obtained it from his doctors.

Guess all that drug use of " oxy' took the so called " wind outta his sails"!!

Pretty dumb NOT to have something like that in it's Rx bottle. EVERYONE knows you can't go thru airport security with ANY pill outside of it's original container! That's not a new rule either!! DUH!!!!

Frankly, while I don't like Rush, I think it's harrassment, unless they have reason to think he's abusing legal substances again

I think that is the point. Either he is, or he is falling back into the illegal prescription thing with his doctors again.

This is an issue with Rush only because of his infamous rhetoric that makes hs living. It is the "think as I say, but I don't have to think at all".

This fits into the "minor" category but sheds some more light once again on his ability to have any credibility.

I can't help but think that he, along with many celebrities and politicians, think they are ABOVE the law. What you and I must abide by doesn't seem to apply to them.

Sooo many civil libertarian hypocrits. R2 gets it.

What R2 said:
Frankly, while I don't like Rush, I think it's harrassment, unless they have reason to think he's abusing legal substances again. No one ever stops me and questions my medications. EVER. All of which are prescribed in my name of course, but still, who cares how much viagra the guy takes. In spite of everything, he doesn't deserve the embarrassment.

Actually Brad and R2, you are both wrong. This is NOT about getting checked. This is about his carrying prescriptions NOT made out to him. This is about his ARROGANCE and belief that HE IS ABOVE THE LAW.

"WHy, I'm Rush Limbaugh, the most wonderful talk show host in the world. Why are they stopping ME?"

If you two cannot see that his vanity and arrogance outweighs his intelligence, then you two need to listen to Jon Daily Show instead of EIB.

On TV last night they had a legal expert on and he said that if there was proper paperwork a person can have meds in the docs names. He said that by all accounts everything was in order.

But hey chief.........maybe you know something since you are the d__k cop

Bottom line....the guy couildn't get a boner.....was ashamed to go to the Dr. ( like so many men ) and got some Viagra on the side. Big Deal!

He just happened to be the guy who got checked. If he was one person farther back in the line....he'd never been stopped.

I don't like him either, never have. But even I think the news is going a bit over board on this one....but then again,.....what goes around comes around and Rush has done his fair share of running with un-newsworthy stories against other people over the years.

When you are a public figure, there is much much more inspection into your personal life. While I think this is intrusive, you could say the same thing about jim baker or jimmy swaggert. In both of those cases, they were speaking of being rightous and not practicing it.

Rush has spoken out about thugs on drugs.

This reporting goes right to that point.

Thugs on drugs.............illegal

Rush's Viagra.............legal

Where is getting drugs under somone else's name (even a doctor's) legal?

Rush has already been through this trial and we know the answer.

He also said that it is done a lot because of privacy.
But hey if you want to be a d__k cop go right ahead.

Everyone has an excuse.

If you keep things private, there is no scrutiny or accountability.

If you keep things private, there is no scrutiny or accountability

That is what the doctors paperwork did, kept accountability

Besides you missed a key point.................it was strictly legal. Do you have a problem with being legal.

His whole drug problem before was this "loophole" in accountability between his doctors. "Legal" drugs instead of illegal drugs.

The fact that he had viagra does not concern me near as much (or not at all---the thought of its use for him is not what I dwell on at all) as the fact that a doctor prescribed it and is not putting it under his name.

The man had a problem with this kind of thing before and he sure isn't very prudent on his personal fault this time.

Maybe you would like to talk about something Rush said and debating that instead of trying to build his personality up?
