It is nice when someone gets caught. This could happen in either century.

PHOENIX - Jason Lon Kirby, 34, of Datilo, New Mexico pleaded guilty for allegedly selling stolen cattle in Arizona and Texas, according to a Friday report.

Kirby had an agreement with Jay Platt of Plateau Partnership to tend up to 500 cattle on land near Superior.

Kirby was convicted for selling 191 steers and heifers to feed yards in Texas between May and June without the permission of Plateau Partnership.

Kirby was reportedly paid over $100,000 for the cattle. He was arrested in Georgia on a warrant and arraigned on Jun 18th, 2010 in Pinal County.

Under the plea, Kirby faces up to two-and-a-half years in the Arizona Department of Corrections to be followed by seven years probation. He must also pay up to $500,000 in restitution to the Plateau Partnership and/or Fredonia Feed Yard.

Sentencing is set for October 4 in Pinal County Superior Court.
