Sad Day In History

I don't know much about politics. But I have been tryin to follow this so called "Health Care Reform". Tonight may have marked one of the biggest decisions in the history of the US. The Democrats voted in ObamaCare against the will of the American People. What is next. It is very evident that the people of our Nation no longer have a say in the laws that govern them. What in the hell happened. This decision goes against everything that our fellow countrymen are fighting for today. Our ancestors died to gain the right of freedom and defending that right to have this happen.

The Dems made the DRAMA. This should have NEVER happened.
They said it was over in August when the bill didn't pass. It wasn't
over, they were just figuring out how to make dirty deals. The dirty
deals that went on behind closed doors...well, that's historical too.

Maybe the Senate won't pass it, and they'll have to start all over
again. We can hope, can't we?

This is going to devastate small business; the very thing that made
this country great.

How about this jingo/kolo? Argue with this: The government has
failed in everything they have tried to do; and YOU think they can
manage healthcare for all???? :x

The US Post Office was established in 1773. They had 234 years
to get it right and it is broke.

Social Security was established in 1935. they have had 74 years
to get it right and it is broke.

Fannie Mae was established in 1938. They had 71 years to get it
right and it is broke.

War on Poverty started in 1964. They have had 45 years to get it
right and it is broke. $1 BILLION of our money is confiscated each
year and transferred to the 'poor' and they only want more.

Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965. They have had
44 years to get it right and it is broke.

Freddie Mac was established in 1970. They have had 39 years
to get it right and it is broke.

The Department of Energy was created in 1977 to lessen our
dependence on foreigh oil. It has ballooned to 16,000 employees with
budget of 24 billion a year and we import more oil than ever before.
They had 32 years to get it right and it is an abysmal failure.

The government has FAILED in every government service they
shoved down our throats while overspending our tax dollars.

And the government wants Americans to believe they can
be trusted with a government-run health care system? It's not
about the need for good health care, IT'S TRUSTING THE
GOVERNMENT TO RUN IT.

It really never was about health care, it was about POWER and
CONTROL.

I'm with you backhoeboogie. I just hope we can last that long.
Our freedoms are being taken from us one by one, while our
Pres is bowing to those madmen from other countries.

We just saw the leaders of Congress force a bill the majority of the people didn't want down their throats via lies, extortion, threats, and bribery. Obama then proclaimed, "This is what change looks like".

I don't know if I've ever been so disgusted in all my life.

You say more taxes.

Each and every county in the US has a Indegent Fund, that part of YOUR taxes go to every year. That tax goes up every year, everywhere...you are already and will pay more taxes---regardless of this new bill

You don't want to have to buy health insurance... you have to buy car insurance...so what's your ppoint?

You don't want to have to pay-via your taxes-- for immigrants etc/welfare/etc people. You already do each and every time you go to YOUR Dr./ hospt as they hav to raise their fees to cover the costs of pople who come in WITHOUT insuracne and the facility gets stuck with the debt.

NEVER forget....you...YOU and YOUR could be a potential patient at any moment in history. If that dreadful event happens and you have mountains of hosp bills....your ins. kicks you off....then what? You want to die, your wife or baby?

Also, where were all these "anti-tax" screams when these things happened....passed like a streak of lightning....UNFUNDED ???:

1) 2 wars now going on for over 6-7 yrs
2) the Rx bill with the doughnut hole costs
3) the tax cuts

If the Republicans had done anything for healthcare reform while GW was in office it never would have come to this. Reading through the highlights of the plan today I don't see what the big stink is about.

Oh my require someone to have health insurance. Thats a damn good idea. I'm sick of people rolling the dice and then getting sick and having the taxpayer pick up the bill.

I still don't see how self-employed people that have been getting the shaft with health insurance companies for years are so vehemently oppposed to this.

Tax cuts??? You have no idea how the FREE MARKET works.

I resent working hard for personal gain then being MADE to give
money to anyone that didn't work for it. I give to charity, but I
want to CHOOSE what charity to give it to.

I said it before, and I'll say it again. When they take away
incentives to work, this country will be just like every other
welfare country and we will not prosper.

The war? Do you understand what our fighting men and women
fought for? OUR FREEDOM. Talk to one of them, they'll tell you
why because they understand. Obviously, you don't. But if you
recall even the Dems were for a war on terror in the beginning.

Well, my understanding of WAR is that you attack WHO attacked you. Right?

The citizens of Iraq and Afghan. didn't attack us........so why run thru their backyard?

If AQ was on the run...why weren't we chasing them instead of staying in the same place???

The citizens of Iraq and Afghanistan have to be responsible for the people they put or allow to be in power. Just like the U.S. was when we had a Civil war to correct our problems.

And no you do not have to wait for them to attack you! lots of men have lost fights because someone pushed them and they did not punch first, they let them push them, then push them some more and then they got popped in the face and the fight was over. Sometimes you have to punch first when someone pushes you. Afghanistan punched us, Iraq pushed us and they got their azzes kicked for doing it!

I agree with you in many areas I think it will be, but probably not in the Health care field. Once something like this passes it is almost impossible to repeal it. We would have to have a super majority in senate and house and a president that would sign it, to repeal it.

And bad thing is Dems were smart they put some things in to start immediate like letting your 25 year olds be on your insurance plan. Stuff that will make some Americans say well this is a good deal. And then all the bad stuff will be years down the road. By the time people start seeing long lines at doctor, the system will be so embedded that many will forget how it happened.

Jingo, do you know anyone who is fighting in this war or that has. Apparantly not. Our troops don't enjoy what they have to do. You talk about not wanting to die, what about our troops. You can't even pick a baby up in Afganistan without wondering wether his coward parents stuck a bomb in his diaper. Those people are slaughtering their own children in the name of what ever it is they believe in, and it is OK with them. Our pro-abortion cowards fit right in with the Afgany cowards.

I have 2 grandsons there now....so YES I know all too well.

We don't need to be the police of the world...

The Afghans has a society long LONG before we did.....let them run their world and sociey how ever they seemd fit to.

It's not our place to tell them how to live and where to place their values.

We'd not like it if Korea or another country came in here and told us how to change our mores and standards........... same applies there

We did let them run things until they attacked us and would not turn over those that did it! They lost their right to govern themselves anymore because they did a bad job of doing it in the past! Kind of like a kid that loses his privilege of driving if he drives recklessly!

You are wrong. The Afghan people DID NOT attack the US.

It was Saudis if I remember right and an Egyptian of 2......why didn't we go there then?.
