We have had to put some good ones down, as well, burnt. It never gets any easier. As I told Katrina, we can do for our four-legged friends what
we can't do for our loved ones.
It takes courage to do it, but it's so much better than letting them
suffer. That's the cowards way...
Have you read Mark Levin's book, "Sprite"? He rescued Sprite at
and old age and only had him for a couple of years. But he agonized
over having to put him down and he felt guilty for a long while for having
done so. It's a good book, very emotional. I think he did a grand
thing taking that dog in the first place and then bonding with him
like he did. The end just came sooner than he was prepared for and
it hurt him deeply.
