Sold my calves on Thursday and didn't do to bad I thought. Had two sorts of steers at 800lb STR-93.55 & 723lb-103.50, the heifers had only two sorts also 701lb 90.50 & 675lb 91.50. I always laugh you work all year long to keep them healthy and growing and when you take them to town and sell them it only takes about 10 min and just in time to start the process all over agian:) Now if I could only hide the money some where so the bank doesn't get it

Sounds like you and I have the same banker, or at least the same type....for whatever reason he always wants to be paid back at the end of the year.

By the way, what happened with your calf that had the prolapsed rectum?

I ended up losing the calf about a week after it happened. The vet said that it can happen from cattle riding each other but I think the calf might of had some other internal problems. I just never had something like that happen before and it was shame it was a big calf to. But when you raise them you are going to lose some thats what my grandpa would always say.

Well I got a pretty damm good banker, but after my wife and banker get the money not awhole lot left over for me

600 lb steers brought $1.05. A group of 520 lb steers brought $112.50. and some lightweight steers (off heifers) weighed in at 450lbs and brought $116.00. That's selling in Salina,Ks. Farmers & Ranchers Commission Co.
