I'll vote for that gal right now. As she spoke tonight, i thought how anti- Hillary, Anti- Pelosi, Anti-Washington she is!!!!!! So what do ya'll think?
No attacking each other, just what do ya think about her speech? As a rancher who do you think will look out for your interests better, Obama or McCain? I try to stay out of these political sessions as they can raise your blood pressure no matter which side ya chose. But i would love to hear actual issues and your argument behind which canidate will actually do something with those issues that mean something to you. And please quit attacking each others opinions and start backing up your own opinion!!!! So what do ya think?

in picking Palin , McCain pulled off a great play against Obama's so called speech.. a literal Hail Mary.. now he needs a hat trick..

I liked the speech.. and already liked her..

the speech was good, she was able to go right for Obama.. and that other guy.. Obamas' VP (whats' his name?),..

the only question I had afterwords,.. was now that Palin has Obama in the cross hairs.. and already put Biden in his place.. , heck she put both of them in their place..

Whats' McCain going to do now?

How can he top her?..

She must have stirred up the radical evangelicals-- they're praying for John McCains salvation and speedy death.

Heres just one example...

I was hoping for a good showing for a pro-life third party candidate in this cycle, which could in turn affect the next elections in favor of conservative Christians. I'll explain my thinking on that later. The Palin nomination turned that chance on it's head. Even James Dobson, the Constitution Party's most well- known supporter who said he'd "never" support John McCain, has now reversed his decision based on Palin's nomination.

So here is my three point plan:

1. Vote Constitution Party. (I vote my conscience and cannot support McCain even with Palin.)

2. Pray for Sarah Palin to win. (I am an idealist, but also a realist!)

3. Pray for John McCain's salvation and speedy death.

That's got to be one of life's greatest mysteries - how in the hell a rancher can even consider voting for Obama. :???:

In answer to your question about the speech, I thought it was pretty close to perfect. Much better than Biden's. I think that she really reached the undecided women voters. Not the radical bra-burners that wouldn't have voted for her anyway, but the the moderates that will help decide the election.

I had the feeling that there were other things that she wanted to say, though. She almost seemed to be actually biting her tongue at times. My wife said she had heard that the McCain people were sitting on her trying to control her mouth - because her reputation is to carry the fight to her opponents and to REALLY say what's on her mind.

If that's the case, I wish they would turn her loose. I'm ready to hear what she's REALLY thinking....

Simple, she appealed to Middle America...she came across as one of us!!!!!

NO, NR and Mrs. Greg, you can't have her...but she has been your neighbor all her life. She will be good for Canada as VP...and, later, as President.
But you'll have to solve your Quebec problem yourselves!!! :) :D

there's sixty days left for both sides to determine their fate. if she shot the whole wad last night she's going to have a long two months. the focus for the repubs is going to mostly be on mccain although i think they'll try to make the most of palin to draw attention away from his weaknesses. i think if he had chosen a really strong person for vp it might have just drawn attention to his screwups on the campaign trail.

I doubt that "she shot the whole wad last night". I also have a feeling that the best is yet to come.

I have an inkling that her hometown handle "Sarah barracuda" is not without reason.

McCain was brilliant in his selection for a running mate.

The Dem's cannot touch her without potentially undoing everything they say they stand for and like to claim to have done for women and minorities.

Ohhh boy! I might actually enjoy this U.S. presidential race for a change!

She said what she was TOLD to say.

Are ya'll too dense to realize that?

Everyone has speech writers, but most everyone works with them to say things in the way that they would say it. She seemed real and sincere about what she said.

The biggest point is the delivery and the way she handles herself while giving it, that is all her and she did good.

We will know more after the Democratic convention and we hear Obama's speech, when does he give it anyways? Have not heard much about him lately?

Amen! And that is what most if not all career politicians forget..... They represent us! Blue collar, hard working, family loving, God fearing, small town dwelling Ranchers, Farmers, Welders, Cashiers, Service workers, Plumbers and the rest of middle America. And we get complacent and comfortable and allow them to forget us. I plan to tell every neighbor and friend to watch that speech, because that will inspire everyone of them to get involved and vote! And if Sarah Palin was a democrat, or an independent i would still be inpressed. You go Girl!!!!!

How do you figure? She was given the help of some speechwriters, for sure, but she could have thrown all that out the window before her speech had she a mind to.

Plus the fact that she "Delivered" this speech in a commanding manner that made the delivery almost as important as the message.

Look, you've made a lot of unwise comments on here but you accusing someone else of being "Dense" is the best yet.

By golly, I think you girls are a little jealous of her!

Then came Sarah Palin's debut for a national audience. Her speech was written by former White House speechwriter Matthew Scully but she has been rehearsing it for several days with McCain aides coaching her. Normally, experienced politicians work with speech writers to polish the words, but with such an important speech from someone who has never given a prepared speech to a national audience before, a pro had to write this one.

One Dem could- and can/will probably rip her throat out on the issues many women are most concerned with-- Hillary
