Today is the Glasgow, Montana's Homecoming-- Since we are the Glasgow Scotties-- the band wears kilts and the school song is sang to the tune of "my Bonnie Lassie"....In years past we had a music instructor that could play and teach "the pipes".. Almost impossible to find anymore...
Anyway for the last several years we have been having the Saskatoon Pipe and Drum Corp come down and perform.. I had to go to the Waterhole today in time to watch the parade...What a group- you couldn't get a better military brace in someone than the way the Major walked thru the parade-- very impressive...
One of them came down years ago to play for the funeral of a longtime friend- who was a retired military police and former Judge... If the wail of those pipes don't bring tears to your eyes at a funeral playing the Scottish funeral dirge- nothing can....
These guys will take part in the halftime festivities tonight-- and then join in the Pub Crawl afterward-- and thats where Canadian Pipers can really shine
