If you want to read something really scarey, try and find a copy of the National Geographic magazine from October 2004. There's and article in it about the loss of wetlands in Louisiana, and it tells of a scenario of a hurricaine hitting New Orleans that is positively horrifically accurate. Everything they say in the article, as of this morning, has come to pass exactly as they say it. Right down to how many people leave town, and how many stay behind. It tells of how the worst case scenario would be a Cat 5 dead on hit, and also tells of the flooding that would happen.
I just hope the rest of the day doesn't play out like it does in their story! It ain't pretty, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
This is pretty frightening stuff, but just imagine what would have happened if no one had the warnings they have had.
