Blue around here today, lost my Mom. :(
After three years in the nursing home she slipped away. Not much left of her, Alzheimer's and old age took their toll.
The home did a great job of making her comfortable.
It's a blessing she's at peace but still kind tough on the family that loved her dearly.
Three of her 5 grandkids grew up in the same yard so they have many memories of running away to Gram-ma's house. :D

Sending condolences to you and your family, Big Muddy. It's hard losing a parent, even though they have spent a long and fulfilling life. May God give you all peace and comfort.

Hi BMR,
I am so sorry for your loss. I will definitely keep you and your family in my prayers. I know there are no words to bring comfort, but I thought the poem below might bring a little comfort to you and your family.

Blessings,
Sweetbasil

By Diana Blokzyl

An Angel whispered
take my hand and
come with me
you're work here is done.

I went away to a place
where there's no tears, nor sorrow
only laughter and smiles,
there will always be a Tomorrow.

As I move amongst the clouds.
I'll look down and smile upon you,
while the angels
sing a heavenly song.

I am not alone
all who went before
are here
they awaited my return.

I know you'll grieve
and wish I was still here
I am here in the memories
you hold dear.

Remember how much I
love you
and know I took your
love with me.

I did not wish for
you to cry, nor feel sad.
My pain is gone and
I am Free!

Soon you'll come to me
until then
God will be with you
Just as He's with me.

you have my prayers. but rejoice in the fact that where she is, there is no pain, her Althziemers is gone, the Lord Almighty has looked upon her with grace and she now watches over you. Find comfort in knowing that you will be united again when He calls you Home. Death is a relief for the ailing, and only hard on those of us left here on Earth. My heart goes out to you and your family

Thank You everyone, We are doing fine, Mom is in a better place after three and a half years in a home and the last couple not walking or communicating it is a blessing. I think Dad took it harder than he expected as he has known it was coming . He looked up in his diary and he visited the home 112 times at 8o miles a round trip. He is 92 and still driving, usually only missed if the weather was bad, the home was quarantined or he wasn't feeling well.
Mom was a huge influence in her kids and grandkids lives and we have many lasting memories.
Mom was a city/town girl when she married Dad but she learned to ride as it was just about the only transportation most of the years back in 1947. I remember in the Centennial parade in Big Beaver 1967 coming around the corner at the bottom of main street someone threw a firecracker and it went off under the big black horse Mom was riding and it buck most of the block of main but Mom stuck him. :D
