As I remember, they had a complete dispersal of all the cows a few years ago.

Why anyone would want genetics that produced a cow that weighed 2000 lbs and a bull that weighed 3000 lbs, is beyond me.

I hear you still JB, I had a fellow pay me a pretty good compliment the other day. He said "your calves are bigger then mine but your cows are smaller" .

That's a whale of a compliment, BMR.
Bigger isn't better when you are talking cows, IMO, but that's
the track the Angus breeders have been on for too long.
Maybe the cattle got too big for Hoff's finally, because they are
HUGE cows.

I knew they had 'dispersed' a few years ago, but not the machinery too.
Someone said they were getting older, help is hard to find and they
were going to cut back.

I know working with Molly Hoff on advertising she was always very nice
and a real lady to work with. Not everyone is like that. If she said she
would do something, she did it, even if she was in Denver at the National Western. Great lady.

We used the old Validictorian and Scotch Cap bull back in the day-there's been worse Angus bulls out there for sure. It would be a fun sale to go to I think I haven't been to a big dispersal in years. My friend has to get rid of 1300 in November so I'll probably hit that one.

The sale they had a few years ago was only a mature cow dispersion. They kept a core herd of young cows to build up, but this seems to be the full meal deal.

They are also selling the ranch. Yep, their cows are too big, but they aren't the lanky type, they are full of meat. At least they aren't the dairy looking Angus!

Doug sold or is selling the place and moving to Wyoming. Parents used to buy his bulls til they got too expensive/threw too big of calves. (A lot of them had to be pulled.) Sure would like to have his sale check though. Pretty impressive what he has accomplished over the years.

We've had 8 Dispersals over the years.....a Disperal 99% of the DOES NOT mean THE END. It's usually just turing the page and onto bigger and better things.

Dispersal, just by the word, alone increase your marketing dollar cause more people talk about and wonder about it and word spreads! Easiest marketing dollar ever spent!

My Angus gals will go 1800 easy...and I'd say a few are right up there with 2000 lbs. A couple won't even fit thru the alleyway! Wonder if they have Jenny Craig for bovines?
