With all the press raised about the seven cattle mix up at Swifts Grand Island plant . The SDSG and R-CALF have pointed out the need for a National Animal Identification System for the USA's cattle herd. To properly implement M'COOL it is imperative the the USA have a M'ID system inplace to ensure US cattle are not co-mingled with superior stock from Canada.

No what it proves is you canuckle heads are not complying with the law,why should we be burdened with a worthless MID mandate because you canuckle heads are not complying(branded "CAN")with the import/export laws ?
We have to watch you dam canuckle heads like a hawk,if you aint trying to run contraband cattle south, you are trying to make replacements out of subsidized feeders.
We dont need MID,the USDA needs a means of tracking imports.....................good luck

What are "WE not complying with Haymaker? Those seven cattle were legally crossed into the USA. It was in the good ol'USA that the problems arose. If you guys could ID your own cattle this never would of happened. You remind me of a pig we found along the road ditch one night when we were hauling some cattle. It was getting pretty cold so we caught him brought him home and put him in the barn. We checked with the neighbours but no one claimed him. After a few weeks of this pig doing pretty good a neighbor from over the hills showed up and said it was his pig as his pigs had no markings so it must be. That's so compareable to the US system of M'ID it's not funny .
