Secrets of the Freemasons

Do They Control the Government?

April 19, 2006 — Having tackled the secretive Catholic conservative
group Opus Dei, Dan Brown says he's writing his next book about the Freemasons. The Freemasons say they are simply a fraternity that aims to make good men better and to support each other. Because they are essentially secret, however, groups such as the Freemasons can stir all kinds of theories.

The all-seeing eye atop the pyramid on the $1 bill is a Masonic symbol. Some say that some of the great American buildings have Masonic symbols incorporated into their architecture. Many of our Founding Fathers, including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin and John Hancock, were Freemasons. There are currently 1.7 million members, though membership has been declining since 1960.

Some conspiracy theorists say that the Freemasons, or
Masons, have designs on government control. "The thing people think about when they think of Masonry is secrecy. They think of this hidden order that they know almost nothing about," said Steven C. Bullock, author of "Revolutionary Brotherhood: Freemasonry and the Transformation of the American Social Order."

The Freemasons have a 500-year history. Originally, they were stonemasons who built the great cathedrals of Europe.
"They traveled widely, because a town would have a church built maybe once every hundred years," said Margaret Jacob, author of "The Origins of Freemasonry: Facts and Fictions."

"As they traveled, they had secret passwords and signs so when they came into a town and said, 'I'm a stonemason, I want to work,' they had to be able to prove they were a member of the guild."
S. Brent Morris, who is, among other things, a 33-Degree Mason, master of the royal secret and managing editor of the Scottish Rite Journal, said that although Freemasonry was not a religion, it had overarching religious principles that were part of Masons' rich traditions.

"The Freemasons did something very radical 300 years ago. We said that men can agree that God exists and he compels them to do good in their life and we can stop all religious discussion at that point and go out and do good and help mankind. So Freemasons invite any believer in God to join them."

Morris said Freemasons displayed a Bible, a Koran and a Torah on their altar. Another powerful symbol of the tradition is the sword carried by the grand sword bearer of the Supreme Council, the highest order within the Freemasons that meets every few years.

Yet the society was so closed centuries ago, is so closed still, that the penalty for revealing Freemason secrets is supposed to be gory death.
Richard E. Fletcher, the executive secretary of the Masonic Service Association of North America, said that the Freemasons was not an enigmatic organization. Things like secret handshakes date back centuries.
"The handshakes are a throwback to our early days when Freemasonry was related to actual builders and stone," he said. "That is how they prove they are a guild member, because most were illiterate."
Although there were once anti-Masonic political parties and early 19th-century President

John Quincy Adams called the Freemasons a power-hungry "boa constrictor" of an organization, Fletcher said Freemasonry had always been about improving oneself. The nature of the self-reflective process is private, he said, and many people mistake that for secrecy.

"While he is being challenged to look inward at himself as a person, he is going to have to self-reflect, contemplate, think. This can't be done in a public forum," he said. "We are pledging ourselves to become better people in our home, in our churches, in all walks of life."
Throughout the centuries, the Freemasons evolved into a wide-ranging, worldwide fraternity with many members having considerable power and influence. In this country, that influence has sometimes reached all the way into the White House. Fourteen of 43 presidents have been Freemasons.
"More than one-third of the presidents belonged to the fraternity, so this is a substantial tradition of politicians being involved in Masonry, so there are fears at times in American history that Masons are too involved in politics," Bullock said.
There are all kinds of stories: that Masons wanted to control a government and thus were behind the American Revolution. Some claim that the Masons killed President Kennedy.
"These are terrific stories. They're yarns. There is not, however, a shred of historical evidence to back them up," Jacob said.
"Their grand secret is that they have no secret," Bullock said. "They're claiming that they're hiding something, but really part of the point is to pretend that you're hiding something."

Still Brown can have a field day in his next book. After all, how did a Masonic symbol — if it is a Masonic symbol — wind up on our $1 bill?
Some critics point to these conspiracy theories and group secrets as reasons for the drop off in Mason membership, but Morris said other organizations were experiencing a similar problem.

"It's also diminished in virtually every voluntary organization in the United States," Morris said. "When you look at all the organizations declining in membership and participation, I think you can't point to the Masonic traditions."

(This story appeared as the headline of the June 5, 2003 issue of the Connecticut Valley Spectator, a newspaper for the Hanover, New Hampshire - Thetford, Vermont, USA area and is reprinted with the kind permission of the Editor.)

WEST LEBANON - Claiming that "Jesuit Masonic Zionists" control the nation's government and courts, a billboard in front of an office building on Glen Road in West Lebanon has raised some eyebrows of passerby.

Connecting the Jesuits (a Catholic society founded in 1534) to the Freemasons (a well known secret society with millions of members) to Zionism (the movement to create and support the modern state of Israel) may seem an unlikely stretch.

Some would say Jesuit, Mason, and Zionist don't belong in the same sentence, let alone as the co-conspirators of a scheme to rule the world.

"At first blush it's ridiculous. Laughable," said Father David Haschka of the U.S. Jesuit Conference in Washington, D.C. "Would we had so much power. The likelihood of our being associated with Masons and Zionists is pretty unlikely considing our history. The Catholic church has been at best suspect of Masonry... The only secrets we like are our own."

The billboard "doesn't make much sense," said Virginia Gilley, administrative assistant to the executive director of the Zionist Organization of America based in New York.

But Ed Brown, owner of the sign and the building in front of which it stands, says the sign is based on his extensive research, which has convinced him of its validity.

He believes much of the pain and suffering in the world is caused by high-level Jesuits, Masons and Zionists, and that the world is in crisis and most people are oblivious. But he insists that you shouldn't take his word for it.

"Don't believe me. I do not want anyone to believe anything that I say. All I am is a guidepost to direct you toward the truth and the facts... My words mean nothing. My opinions mean nothing. Research the truth. Look up these few key words on the Internet. Stop playing games. Stop worrying about your love life."

"It goes like this," he said. "The Jesuit/Masonic is the religion. Zionism is the politics -- It is a very dangerous and deadly form.

Brown makes a point to separate the politics of Zionism from the Jewish religion.

"If you think for a second that I'm anti-Jew, you're dead wrong," Brown said: "I'm not against any religion. I am anti-politics that kills people."

The billboard goes on to urge readers to "Check Computer," presumably meaning to look up "Jesuit Masonic Zionists" on the Internet. A "Google" search for "Jesuit Masonic Zionists" turns up a host of what your average person might dismiss as "conspiracy theory" Web sites. Theories differ, but generally the information on the sites points to the Jesuits and Rome as the masterminds, directing the Zionists and Masons to establish control of the world. Some sites take it further, saying the scheme is geared toward establishing Satan's kingdom on earth: The establishment and maintenance of Israel paves the way for rebuilding Solomon's Temple on the Mount in Jerusalem, from which the Antichrist ("the Black Pope") will rule. Again, this all seems pretty far out to your average person but it could be made to dovetail with Bible prophecy, which is becoming ever-more mainstream as more people are convinced that the "End Times" are upon us, and the creation of Israel and the anticipated construction of the Temple are key components in End Times prophecy.

Brown insists that all judges in America are Freemasons. He said the fact that Masonic symbols appear on our currency is an example of them flaunting their power. He points to the Masonic slogan, ordo ab chao ("order out of chaos"), as a guide for their aim to "turn the world into chaos."

Brown appeared in an earlier Spectator article after refusing to pay school takes on his Plainfield home or the West Lebanon office building for three years. He said the schools are teaching cultural- political engineering according to a communist system that intentionally "dumbs down" American kids. He has since decided to pay taxes, not because his convictions have changed, he said, but because he wanted to avoid a deadly confrontation that he said would result if the town or city attempted to seize his property. Brown, a retired exterminator, is the state commander for the United States Constitution Rangers, a nationwide paramilitary group sworn to uphold the Constitution. He has also founded an organization called the UnAmerican Activities Investigations Commission, based out of his building on Glen Road.

You "create your own reality" in the sense of total (but mysteriously unconscious) psychokinesis. If a car hits you and puts you in the hospital, I do not believe this is because you "really wanted" to be hit by a car, or that you "needed" to be hit by a car, as two popular New Age bromides have it. The theory of transactionaly psychology, which is the source of my favorite models and metaphors, merely says that, once you have been hit by a car, the meaning of the experience depends entirely on you and the results depend partly on you (and partly on your doctors). If it is medically possible for you to live -- and sometimes even if the doctors think it is medically impossible -- you ultimately decide whether to get out of the hospital in a hurry or to lie around suffering and complaining.

John Birch Society

The John Birch Society (JBS) is a conservative, Americanist organization that was founded in 1958 to fight what it saw as growing threats to the constitution of the United States, especially communist infiltration, and to promote the free-enterprise system.

The Society describes itself as "a membership-based organization dedicated to restoring and preserving freedom under the United States Constitution." It states that its members come from all walks of life and are active throughout the 50 states as part of local chapters. The Society's mission is to achieve "Less Government, More Responsibility, and — With God's Help — a Better World." Its current headquarters is in Appleton, Wisconsin. The JBS was formed as an educational organization and does not involve itself in any way in the political system, although some of its members choose to do so outside of their JBS activities.

The most probable story is that a CIA faction decided to do away with Kennedy for one of three reasons: a) that he gave away Cuba, a country on which the Agency had worked so hard and in whose struggle the renegades had become personally involved; b) to prevent him from doing the same with Vietnam; or c) as a response to a wave of firings Kennedy had ordered in the Bay of Pigs aftermath, starting with CIA director Allen Dulles (who, by the way, served on the Warren Commission), and out of fear that Kennedy was going to eviscerate the intelligence establishment for misleading him about Cuba. In response to the charge that it would be incredible that a government branch could pull off anything as efficiently as the Kennedy assassination and coverup, it should be remembered that the CIA of 1963 was an entirely different animal from what it is today. The men carrying this out were veterans of the World War II O.S.S. These same men smuggled Nazis out of Europe against incredible odds, a far cry from the modern CIA's college boy recruiters who can't deal with student protest on the Carolina campus.

THE ZERO GAME
It's a curious fact of American history that, since 1840, every President elected in a year ending in zero has died in office. The sole exception is Ronald Reagan, and John Hinckley certainly made a credible effort in his case. Suppose these deaths aren't coincidence. That's the view of Lyndon Larouche and some writers of the right-wing fringe, people who write letters to the editor of the Spotlight and believe the John Birch Society is moderate. The usual argument is that the deaths are arranged, for mystic numerological reasons, or simply to toy with the people of the last free country on earth. The culprits might be the forces of Freemasonry, Zionist bankers, the Vatican, the British crown, whoever the individual writer fears most. The eccentricities of the far right are a subject for further research. Those who would like to know more can pick up a copy of Spotlight, available at a machine outside the Franklin St. post office in Chapel Hill. And take out an insurance policy on the President in eight years.

· Canadian citizens who have tried to
find out why the Watchtower Society in Canada is allowed to evade taxes, have been stonewalled by government officials. MacGregor Ministries newsletter News & Views, Oct. 1993, p. 10 discusses how various people have tried to expose the Watchtower’s avoidance of the GST and how the Minister of Finance, the Minister of National Revenue and many other government groups have simply stonewalled people. The fax no. of one of the most powerful committees of the Watchtower Society is the WT Service Dept. whose fax no. is 718-624-4030. This newsletter will continue to bring articles on the various branches of Satan’s One World Religion which includes the Mormon authority structure, the Catholic authority structure, the Pentecostal and the Jehovah’s Witnesses authority structures just to name a few.

UNDERSTANDING CHARLES T. RUSSELL
As with all occult organizations a veil of secrecy is maintained by requiring initiates to take secrecy oaths on penalty of death. As in Witchcraft, Masonry repeatedly demands secrecy oaths at every new level. Charles T. Russell began participating in this secrecy when he took the Entered Apprentice (first Masonic degree) oath on penalty of mayhem and violent death, "I ... do hereby and hereon most solemnly and sincerely promise and swear that I will always hail, ever conceal and never reveal any of the arts, parts or points of the secret arts and mysteries of ancient Freemasonry which I received, am about to receive, or may hereafter be instructed in ..."

Presidential Pedigrees

"In America any boy may become President," Adlai Stevenson once said. While, theoretically, anything is possible pedigree actually is paramount. If the boy happens to be a WASP his chances are vastly greater. Virtually all of our presidents trace their ancestry to a small area of Northeast Europe, bounded by the Netherlands and Ireland.

The news of Kennedy's death by assassination shocked the world. In cities around the world, people wept openly. People clustered in department stores to catch TV coverage, and others prayed. Motor traffic in some areas came to a halt as the news of Kennedy's death spread literally from car to car. Most schools across the USA and Canada dismissed students early, but not all did. A misguided fury against Texas and Texans was reported from some individuals. All three TV networks cancelled regular programs scheduled for the next three days in order to provide non-stop news coverage of the assassination. The television coverage of the assassination was the longest uninterrupted news coverage of one event until the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Universal Brotherhood.
U.S. Grand Lodge is the governing body of O.T.O. in the United States. It is the most populous and active branch of O.T.O., with several thousand members and 41 local bodies in 23 states as of April 2006.

The germs of nearly all these fantastic theories are contained in Anderson's "The Constitutions of Free Masons" (1723, 1738) which makes Freemasonry coextensive with geometry and the arts based on it; insinuates that God, the Great Architect, founded Freemasonry, and that it had for patrons, Adam, the Patriarchs, the kings and philosophers of old. Even Jesus Christ is included in the list as Grand Master of the Christian Church. Masonry is credited with the building of Noah's Ark, the Tower of Babel, the Pyramids, and Solomon's Temple. Subsequent authors find the origin of Masonry in the Egyptian, Dionysiac, Eleusinian, Mithraic, and Druidic mysteries; in sects and schools such as the Pythagoreans, Essenes, Culdees, Zoroastrians, and Gnostics; in the Evangelical societies that preceded the Reformation; in the orders of knighthood (Johannites, Templars); among the alchemists, Rosicrucians, and Cabbalists; in Chinese and Arabic secret societies. It is claimed also that Pythagoras founded the Druidic institution and hence that Masonry probably existed in England 500 years before the Christian Era. Some authors, considering geological finds as Masonic emblems, trace Masonry to the Miocene (?) Period [15] while others pretend that Masonic science "existed before the creation of this globe, diffused amidst the numerous systems with which the grand empyreum of universal space is furnished".
