I finally understand why ya call "goose" goose! Looking at his picture today, the ol' light bulb finally went off! It takes awhile with us desert folks but we catch on now and then! Our ponies are getting ready for work too. The cows are scattered this year and the horses will wear out some shoes getting them off the tops to wean. Thanks for the pictures! :D

Yes, Goose is named because of his markings and not necessarily because of his attitude. He does "duck" and "dive" quite proficiently, though, which somewhat fits in with him being a Goose. :)

Nice photos, beautiful animals, beautiful country, it's great to be alive.

I very much enjoy your photos from Venezuela, also. Welcome to the "board." You seem to have an informed and intelligent political perspective as well. Glad you are here. :)

I remember when you bought Two Zee, and liked the looks of him. Is he working out for ya? Don't see a lot of pics of him under saddle.

I quite like the l;ittle black it might have something to do with short legs lol. they look ready to go to work. Have you ever rode a spayed mare-I have a sweet little five year old are has had a couple illicit relationships with the bronc stud-I'd like to ride her more spaying would take care of that but she's one of the best I've raised also. I think we got horses split off this year in time to keep her open.I usually breed mares one year then ride them one.

Calves look awesome! We're finally getting into some more of the wet meadows too to hay...though we'll probably still be haying when the snow flies..lol Still looks good up your way!

Don't worry Jassy, you won't be alone. Although our snow will probably fly before yours. Raining here today. :(

-9 Celcius here this morning.

Say Soapweed, what is the animal in the foreground of the 2nd picture? looks like a bull - is it a small yearling or do you leave some calves intact?

Brady rode Two Zee some last spring, but he had enough of his own horses that he didn't ride my broncs too much. Two Zee should make a pretty good horse someday, but he needs more riding than what he is getting.

We had a pony mare one time that I had a veterinarian spay. Back then the procedure was $75, and it was money well spent. The spayed mare ran all the time with our geldings, and there was never any fighting with them because of jealousy for her attention.

It is one of our best steer calves of this year, probably born around the first of March.

Never had too many problems with running geldings with mares usually because there'ds enough of both in the same bunch. My old Flash mare rules the roost heree if you capture her you've got everybody. Boy if some of these roans don't buck we'll have a pen of stout rope horses. Had a quyarter horse guy asking bout our stud last week lol.

Oops my mistake - he's a big calf then. It just looks in the photo that he has a lot more hair on his peezle than you would ever get with a steer so I thought he must be a bull.

Love your ranch---great pictures---- I like that Two Zee horse--Tell me about him !!! :)

He was born June 25, 2004 and the original breeder/owner was Charon Thornburg from Saratoga, Wyoming. The horse went through the hands of a horse trader or two before I bought him two years ago as a started colt. My intentions were good, and I rode him a couple times right after I bought him. Being the "boss," most of my cowboying requires a horse that I can get something done on and this horse was a bit too green to do what was required. Consequently he has had a couple years of rest. He is a tall horse, probably standing 16 hands or more. He has a lot of unrealized potential. :?

Everything looks real good......but I'm kind of wondering what the bowling scores were :???: 8)

That is confidential, and for good reason. I am happy to report though, that I was the oldest geezer in our group of five but still won both games. :)
