Sergeant Crowley shows his Compassion

Looks like Sergeant Crowley is a pretty compassionate person. Not everyone is thoughtful enough to even think about it, some would just keep walking.

And, Dr. Gates accepted his arm...rather than shaking it off.

I read some of the conversation. I think both men have shown a great deal of intelligence and reason.

My hat is off to the both of them.

I guess I don't look at the picture the way you do, Hypocrite. I look at it as a step forward...and you choose stir up personal ill feelings and keep them festering.

As I said, they appeared to be two good guys caught in unfortunate circumstances. And yes, Gates made a mistake. But still, which of us is perfect?

I couldn't agree with you more.

I wouldn't have wanted to have been either one of them in that situation.

After reading the police report more closely, it appears there were a couple of moments where Crowley probably could have handed Gates a business card and walked away - but having been in stressful situations like that myself, I don't think he comported himself too badly.

And Gates, even though he was in his own home, was letting his temper override the logical side of his mind. But like you said, don't we all at times. It's sad to think that one of the most renowned African-American scholars in the country, whether it is true or not, perceived that his race was the driving force in Crowley's investigation.

As a nation, we still have a long way to go, but I think we are going to get there eventually.

What did Gates do or say that made you perceive that he was a good guy? :?

We should be there already! When we as Americans vote in a Black man to the post powerful position in the world then we should be there.

So far all we have seen is that white people will put a Black man in such a powerful position. But Black people seem to not want to call the game over and still want to stir the Racial pot!

If Obama becoming President would not get us there and actual send us backwards I do not think we will ever be there! For there to be success the Blacks have to accept game over and let go of there Racism!

All Obama has shown us is Whites will accept Black people, but Blacks will not accept white people!

Perhaps it was his life's work.

Some of us knew who Gates was prior to this unfortunate incident.

Yea sure you did!

And his work does not make him a Good person! How you react to situations like the one with Crowley show rather you are a good person or not!

Almost Lincolnesque.

Abe said that he did not believe the black and white race could live together in harmony equally and he believed the white race should be in a position of superiority to be able to do so.

I 'spose Lincoln was right about everything else he said except this?

It was 90 degrees with high humidity outdoors. I'm sure that they told the two men that they could remove their suit coats since the Suds Summit was outdoors in the Rose Garden, but they chose to keep their coats on.

Obama is actually more dressed up in his tie and white shirt that the majority of Washingon on a late July afternoon. It's hot here in the summer and the dress code is suspended in the summer.

I thought Barry was from Hawaii and likes it warm? :???:
