Sharpton to Bill Clinton: 'Shut Up'
January 28, 2008 2:32 PM

ABC News' Rick Klein Reports: Rev. Al Sharpton on Monday weighed in on the raging debate inside the Democratic Party over former President Bill Clinton's advocacy on behalf of his wife's campaign, with two choice words for the former president: "Shut up."

On ABC's "The View," Sharpton said voters are hearing "race charges, race-tinged rhetoric" in the Democratic primary campaign, and called on the former president to cease.

As much as I love Bill Clinton, I too must insist that he hush up and back up. He's getting a bit ' much' and overshadowing Hillary, who is the one running for office.

A lot of people see it as him running for a 3rd term under the guise of her running for the office. Now, for me...that's not a problem....but for a lot of the voters it is a BIG problem.

But as far as Obama winning SC.....yeah he spanked her BUT....wait until Feb 5th is over and see who is left standing and that will be the true test.

Once he gets out of the heavily black South,( SC, Ga, Ala, Miss....)that will be true test for Obama.

I don't know Kola........there are LARGE populations of blacks in the rust belt, in California, in Florida, in Texas, and there are a lot of Democrats who are truly afraid that a Clinton nomination will bring hard right Republicans out, just so they can vote against her. Also the western states where most ofthe resistance to Obama will be felt are states of limited populations and limited delegates. I think if it were a final choice between McCain and Obama or Edwards that most of the right would just stay home. If it were a choice between Clinton and McCain, a lot of people would vote FOR McCain just to block Clinton.

Ms Clinton should return to her Senate seat and make every effort to become a senior and valuable Senator. Se can pave the way for a woman Obama to come along in 8 years that will kick the Democrat party into high gear. Caroline Kennedy comes to mind. Wilma Mankiller and Susan Savage comes to mind. The seeds sown by Julian Bond in 1968 are now being harvested by Obama. We need Hillary as the womens Julian Bond.

I'd not think Caroline Kennedy would be ' the one'. Seems folks are tired of the ' dynasty' deal and there is none bigger then the Big K's. Which they'd not be if John F hadn't been killed!

Wilma Mankiller is a great lady. I've met her several times as she is good friends with some of my kin here in Ga. But you think the world will go for a Native Woman in the not too distant future?

I don't know. Here in the South it wouldn't make a difference but I have noticed the HUGE changes in attitudes and opinions of whites towards NDN's in the western areas. Honestly at first, growing up as I did , then encountering that mind set really shook me up.

But back to the topic.....I'm afraid you may be right Goodpasture and Hillary might get sent back to the Senate unless she makes BIG changes.

But then again, they , the Clinton's, are THE BEST at what they do so I guess it's just hide and watch.

I have no problem with Obama. I just think you need to understand " snakes' before you become a ' snake handler' and I'm not sure he's had enough time in the ' snake pit' ( Wahsington) to learn all the needs to learn.

But if Obama did win, I think the world would breath a HUGE sigh of relief.
