She owes me

The little Montana Cowgurl got to go on a ski trip with her classmates. Track also started so she is staying with one of her teachers in town so we don't have to go pick her up every night after practice. So that leaves us to do her chores, feed her 4-H steer, bull, rabbit, etc. She also has 4 spring calving cows to raise the steers for her. Well, this morning two of those four cows calved under the shed right next to each other so they are busy right now trying to figure out who will raise who. Just hope that both calves get a mommy, that's all I care. So now as we speak, a third one of those 4 cows is calving in amongst the other two idiots and the fourth cow is standing in the corner switching her tail like somethings about to happen with her too. We did not synch these cows, they just don't like me and they know I'm the only one here. I can see that fathers day present now

1/4 Shorthorn, !/4 Angus, and 1/2 Gelbvieh, should have hair, nice polled head and grow up to be beautiful!

Now, if I take this one you have to take that one, no, if I take that one you have to take this one. No I think I'll wait and see what the third one is before I decide.

just came back in, so far she has two show steers to be and 1 replacement and I think that the other cow decided that today is not the day. For now, they each have their own calf and everyone has sucked. I tagged one so I know who is who but those cows hate me, I'm pulling a Jinglebob on this deal, they come after me and I'm gonna wait for the little girl to tag the other two

that one balck cow was one of the kids show heifers about 8 years ago, I thin she hates me for that, she starts pawing when she sees me coming and I've had her chase me for tagging somebody elses calf. Mandy can take care of that one.

Hey! I resemble that remark!

J&S, welcome aboard, whereabouts in Illinois are you from? I had relatives (deceased now) in DeKalb (they raised seed corn), Leland, Hinckley, Sandwich, Earlville. I also still have living relatives in those areas.

Back to the subject,

Mandy's "Trixie" is one of them who calved, nice steer, mean mom, sw and I went ahead and tagged the other two today (that's cuz he had me helping him  ) I grabbed Trixie's calf and dragged him underneath the fence (it is continuous fence type), she all the while, growling, giving me the dirty look but she knew she had no control. Those moms have so much milk each one should be raising at least 2. Got him banded, tagged, pushing him back under the fence I went ahead and pulled it's tail from it's butt cuz the rich milk it was consuming made the calf's poops very gummy and it's tail was soooo very stuck to it's butt. sw went after 13L, calf was a heifer. 13L, once she calms down after calving isn't very mean. Got it tagged. Then the red cow, who you have seen, decided that Trixie's calf was hers. With the hook, I grabbed the calf, worked it down the fenceline toward another pen (both moms claiming it) all the while sw is pushing the reed cow's real calf toward this other pen. All of a sudden, the red cow realizes she uuummmmming the wrong calf, runs to the right calf, and now they are locked up together so they BOND!!!! At least no one got hurt, but ya shoulda seen sw and I working those mommas
