Little Bo Peep,

Thanks for sharing! Very interesting. Did he accidentally shear the top of his head? Do you sell the wool right away or store it...or is it foreward contracted :???: Just wondering. What is wool worth a pound anyway? Aren't those overhead bins awesome? Just let gravity do all of the work.
Now get to bed, you have school tomorrow. :)

haha you ask way to many qustions. Now you're making me think. no he didnt shave his head. We keep it until we rember to take it to the wool place, we sell it to Canadian wool growers i think 20 some cents a pound. and those huge bags hold liek 300 pounds, and he got 2 full ones. no those big ones you have to climb in and jump on it, this one it is a mechanical wool packer. I dont want to go to bed!! I dont want to go to school, and i dont want to go driving!!

Really like the wool bagger. Is it yours? We've already sheared this year but we promised ourselves we would build one before next year. Could you post more pictures or some details. Thanks

Our shearing is coming soon.. I happen to be our wool compressing machine on this place.. We only have about 30 sheep but we get a wee bit more than .20 cents a pound.. Have gotten as high as a buck a pound if I remember correctly a couple years ago (That was a shocker) and usually do okay with our Targhee fleeces.... Our guy takes it away after shearing and we just sell it right away.. However, we are going to kep about 5-6 fleeces this year and get it spun into yarn for some folks.. Might make a few extra nickels to rub together..

When we sheared the wool packing machine was always us kids....

Me too...then in college I worked for some folks with sheep, and again, it was my job. Good exercise! Maybe I need to get back in the sheep business, as I could stand to stomp away a few pounds and inches!

Cheers---

TTB
