We got the sheep into a waterless corral last night. This morning we sorted off lambs and I made three loads to Afton. By the time I got there with the 3rd load the semi had came out of Greys River and they and the brand inspector had weight and loaded the first 2 loads. A big range outfit buys my lambs when he comes off the mountain with his, this way he can make sure he has a full semi or sheep trailers full on their way to California or Colorado. Well they had weight the partly full semi at the port in Alpine and we cut out about half my 3rd load weight them cut ten head of them back so that the semi load was only 1000 lbs over as he loose most of that before the next port.
We took 1/2 a load of 25 lambs up Big Gerys River to go with tomorrow loads. We passed 2 more semis coming out. Then going out we passed the sheep foremen that had help load ours. He had 25 lambs they had taken off semis at the port in Alpine as the lamb’s averaged lot more then expected.
They will ship 3 more semi tomorrow of lambs and 3 more Monday. Then 3 days hauling ewes to their fall range.
The corral up on the forest is a tuck load of sheep panels a long ally with a sort gate then a pushed up pile of dirt with a log wall in front that the long chute to fill the trucks rests on.
We only put 160 miles on the truck and fifth wheel trailer today.
