More of Dr. Laura's psychobabble -I don't think I'd take the advice of an amateur porn queen on how to raise my kids. When you committ to a team for a season you better gut it out and finish what you started. I think this it's okay to quit mentality is too prevalent in our society-just look at the divorce rate. Dr. Phil is another wingnut in my opinion-I had one of his books-what a load of crap.Alot of kids have more in them than we give them credit for-a challenge once in awhile in their life sometimes lets their inner strength come through.
Well said Northern Rancher,I also agree a child should finish somthing they start! Angus, nobodys making you try football,do it because you want to,if you start it stick the season out.Actually I don't think that needed to be said, you've already proven your heads in the right place as far as commitment goes. And Angus, just a few hours and the wonderful world of playoff hockey begins............... :

My head is on straight, but htere are a lot of people's that are on backwadrs, and I know a few of them-lol. I don't want to play, and I won't, but everyone is trying to make me, and telling me to quit hockey ot play this--cause you get more excercizing. Bull----. I can knock out anyone who tries to show they're in the right and they are not, I will hit someone for not treating women-or anyone for that matter-with respect. I have and I will again.I'm not afraid to call someone a liar if I know they are and can prove it, and I will tell someone off for abusing rights.
People are thinking that because I'm big and strong I should play, but I told them that I like to play football for fun, but not if it means quitting hockey and selling my cattle, because those ar ethe two things that I can take pride in, and say that I did for myself, andif I can't build myself a future in hockey, then I plan to ranch my cattle. And if I am called a hick or somehting to that matter, I will take it, and I will always know that I am better than them, and I will not stoop to their level.

Have a good day!!!!!!!!

You are a very mature young man, ACS. Stick to your guns. You won't be sorry in the end.

So many young people don't know what they really want to do. I admire you for knowing and not getting into something you would rather not.

To the parents who don't think their kids should quit something once they start; think about this: Say in football, you kid doesn't really want to play, BUT he knows you want him to. So he plays. Gets hurt badly. Now who is responsible? If he wants to play that is one thing, if YOU want him to play and he does it to please you, that is quite another.

Dr. Laura had nude pictures of herself -taken by the guy she was having a fling with floating around the net a few years back. Anybody that damned dumb shouldn't be dispensing advice on parenting or anything else for that matter.

sure hate to see another pi$$in match over which is rougher football/hockey. I think participants in the pi$$in match are missing some amazingly artfull teamwork in both sports. Hacks play for the rough stuff, gamers play inspite of it.

Hey, let's get the gloves off and laying on the ice. lol. I prefer hockey cause it's been the ONLY thing that I can play decently I guess. lol!
See-there got to work on attitude first.Yur just a pup yu can do what ever yu want yet.Yes football(or rodeo) may be hard on yur body--but it can do wonders for your soul.Life is short so live it.You are in your prime physically,so use it to make memories when your in rocking chair like me-well close. 8)

lol.I've been a goalie since I was 5. lol. I'm not pushed around physically anymore, just verbally, and if they do, I teach them a lesson. lol. It ,ay be good for the soul, but I would rather play hockey than real football anyday. Too technical. lol
