Sick of Obama

I can not believe how sick I am of Obama already. I could not imagine 4-8 years of him as President.

The media has made him out to be some sort of God like figure. Are people really so stupid as to vote for a man that has done nothing but a couple state senate terms?

They have him as the great hope of America, as if America was some third world country that is broken. The only broken thing with the U.S. is the change that Liberals and guys like Obama that keep trying to turn us into some Socialist society.

This man is dangerous! And starting to make Hillary look good.

Obama would probably fit in just fine as a Civil Rights activist going around giving "I have a dream" speeches. But he is dangerous as a leader of this country.

Obama is running campaign ads here in Texas on the television. I listen to them at first, but now all I truly hear is "I am communist, I am communist." He is slamming business. If the whiners get the depression they keep focusing on, he is going to be begging for businesses.

Have you heard any "official reasons" why neither Hillary or Obama will touch the super corrider question down there?

Two of my 5 top picks for President are black. I would be happy with Powell or Rice.

I am tired of them making this guy a rock star when he is nothing more than a hired speaker. I am tired of the sense of entitlement just because he is black. I am tired of him getting a free ride and not being held up to scrutiny by the press and when he is interviewed.

A president should be asked to and be able to answer hard questions, to ramble on about having a dream, just words.

I am sure you like the guy, please share with us any accomplishments he has done besides being a good speaker?

The man will not wear a flag pin, been caught not putting his hand over his heart during Star Spangled Banner.

But he has this flag hanging in his Houston Campaign office.

Not in one place but twice!

20080211ObamaCheHouston2.jpg

Why is he getting a free ride why is he not firing everyone in that office and explaining his butt off as to why it was there. If this was a republican with that type of flag he would be toast.

Ps. Not happy about the hippie peace sign flag either.

Another issue with Obama is that he admittedly hit the wrong button 6 times when in the state senate.

Do we really want a President in charge of the most important button in the world and he not know when, how or which one to push?

Do we really want a First Lady that has never been proud to be an American until there was a chance for her husband to be the President.

Do we want a man as President that says it is wrong to slaughter a horse for food, but votes to allow doctors to bring a baby partially out of its mothers belly, drill a hole in the top of its head and suck its brains out.

Maybe because Obama admitted to it................or should I say making excuses for the flag being there. Are you calling Obama a liar?

Shouldn't you prove the pictures wrong or me before you say I am easily misled?

No being misled here, facts are facts. Keep up with what is going on and you would know these things.

Obama flip flops around when asked one of his few difficult questions. Is he for a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq or not? :?

60 minute iterview

"At a time when American casualties are down, at a time when the violence is down, particularly affecting the Iraqi population, is that the right time to try and set time tables for withdrawing all American troops? I mean you talked about…the end of 2009," [Steve] Kroft remarked.

[Obama said] "Yeah, absolutely. I think now is precisely the time. I think that it is very important for us to send a clear signal to the Iraqis that we are not gonna be here permanently. We're not gonna set up permanent bases. That they are going to have to resolve their differences and get their country functioning."

"And you pull out according to that time table, regardless of the situation? Even if there’s serious sectarian violence?" Kroft asked.

No, I always reserve as commander in chief, the right to assess the situation," Obama replied.

First he's for timetables, then he isn't. As one McCainiac just put it to me, "Shades of John Kerry. We already beat this guy. The last thing we need right now is indecisiveness."

LIke I said in another post... "and the every negative thing you say against him is "racist" and he is going to be tough to beat in a general election".... and it isn't even the general election yet..

I like Obama's positive hope message.. but he is a far leftist liberal... on the issues... so for me it is not about race... but about him being a liberal... I could tolerate a black man (or even a black woman)... as president.. but not a liberal...

Since there are so many Obama threads going now, I hated to bring another one all the way back to the top. I wanted to comment on this post from Chuck, so I just moved it here. Anybody that knows Chuck knows that he is a true conservative stuck in a crappy place for a conservative to live - I'm not sure how he stands it. Chuck always has some great insight if you can just get him to share it.

I'm proud to call Chuck my friend. I just wish he would post more often. Maybe he'll find the time to keep us updated on some more of the local Obama news. I highlighted his wise words at the end:

Chuck said:
As some of you know,I live in Illinois. I wrote this over at CT in 2004 right after Obama was elected. My opinion hasn't changed, except to say he is worse than I thought he could be.
Obama is burning a lot of fuel now,but we'll see if there's anything there long term. He is a college professor that says a lot of things that his constituents want to hear. Time will tell if he is what I think he is.
We've had time to tell what he is now,and anybody who is to the left of Dicky Durbin our other socialist senator here,is not somebody we want in the White House. He offers nothing substantial, only charisma and the ability to speak well in front of a crowd. He reminds me of a few revival preachers I've heard. A lot of our fellow citizens seem to have closed their eyes, put their heads back and fallen into his trance of "change",suspending their ability to think clearly about the whole package they are buying. He has so far fallen into his seats, without ever being in a tough election and having to defend his positions on anything. I thought that might hurt him in a national election, but he has so far escaped mostly I think because of the fear from the other candidates getting hit with the backlash.
If you are an Obama supporter, especially if you are an independent or a disgruntled Republican, this is America, and that's your right, but please take the time to really examine what it is you are voting for.

For those critics who accuse Obama of lacking substance, his speech in Houston, Texas, last night should provide them with plenty of substance to mull.
He promised to:

--End tax breaks for companies that "ship jobs overseas"
--Give tax breaks to companies that hire American workers, and provide pension and health care plans
--Reform predatory lending laws
--Provide universal health care; subsidize existing premiums by $2.5K per family
--Roll back the Bush tax cuts, and give tax cuts to families making under $75K/year
--No income tax for families earning less than $50K/year
--Trade policies should include provisions for labor and environmental standards
--Minimum wage to keep pace with inflation
--End standardized tests as a criteria for schools' performance
--Provide a $4K college tuition credit in exchange for community service
--Cap for greenhouse gas emissions
--Penalties from polluters will subsidize alternative energy development
--Raise mileage standards for cars
--Enforce border security, crack down on the employers of illegal aliens
--Path to citizenship for illegal aliens in the country that would include a fine, an English requirement, and moving to the "end of the line" for citizenship papers
--Provide military with proper training and equipment
--Increase spending on the VA and other veterans' programs
--End the Iraqi occupation by the end of 2009
--Pursue diplomatic solutions to foreign policy problems
--Make finding missing nuclear weapons materials a priority
--Assist countries ravaged by HIV/AIDS
--Work to end genocide in Darfur
--Close the Guantanamo prison
--Restore habeas corpus

His plans on Congressional Reform include:

Create a Public "Contracts and Influence" Database: As president, Obama will create a "contracts and influence" database that will disclose how much federal contractors spend on lobbying, and what contracts they are getting and how well they complete them.
Expose Special Interest Tax Breaks to Public Scrutiny: Barack Obama will ensure that any tax breaks for corporate recipients - or tax earmarks - are also publicly available on the Internet in an easily searchable format.

End Abuse of No-Bid Contracts: Barack Obama will end abuse of no-bid contracts by requiring that nearly all contract orders over $25,000 be competitively awarded.

Sunlight Before Signing: Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.

Shine Light on Earmarks and Pork Barrel Spending: Obama's Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act will shed light on all earmarks by disclosing the name of the legislator who asked for each earmark, along with a written justification, 72 hours before they can be approved by the full Senate.

Horse slaughter should be as legal as abortion. Let people decide what to do with their own horses and their own bodies. It seems the more the "conservatives" preach against "less government" the more the more government intrudes in our daily lives. The "conservative" movement is a f-ing sham. Do as I say not as I do is the true conservative diatribe.
