Silage Questions

In the 40's we were taught that silage was for Cattle N sheep -> NEVER HORSES!

My Yearlin Horse were raizes in the 500 acers of Swamps in the Valley - they learn, real fast, many things I think horses should know. They learn Footing, Snakes, lookout for stray Barb Wire in the Tullies, Ect.. They also learn what to eat and what not to eat, things Barn/Boxstall raises horses never get a chance to learn.

My Mentor was a Hay Dealer and ofter said "Your Horses Are The Best Salesmen I Have - They'll Eat anything!"

Later in Life I found that when I had "Possable Bad Hay" on the ground (from old hay stacks) I could put a sprinkler on it for an hour and then let my horses and V_Ley's Goats pick-out anything eatable.

(I used the round type lawn sprinklers, only wet small areas they could clean up and Let the sprinkler run while they were eating) They like that on Hot Days

I read here that some-of-you feed silage. Always ready to learn I went looking (Thanks to this MAC 'N' Goggle) and this is the best writing I've found
