"Scale the fishes"- a toast to all Norwegians (Judith included :p )- today is Norwegian Independence Day- and even tho I'm a full blood Kraut, I had to take part in a little of our old Scandahoovian communities celebration ( a community of Norskies, Krauts and Swedes, with a good background of Russians (Prussians), few Scots, and Native American Indians all mixed into the salad )...

Anyway after attending the Granddaughters school play and the local cow sale for awhile-- I had to stop at the water hole for awhile since they were flying a Norwegian flag (Only flys one day a year along with their normal US flag)- and the Norwegians were all celebrating-- and some of those old tightwad Norskies actually were buying drinks on this day!!

Luckily we don't have that many Swedes around here (or at least that will admit it, so no bannister accidents   ).. Today they all claim to be "eastern Norwegians"...My old neighbor always said the only difference was that Swedes were Norwegians minus the brains.....Used to love to talk about his "Swedish wheat" crops--( looks great but "nothing in the heads"  )....

Swedish-Norwegian---Boy Judith- you really pulled the short straw on your geneology didn't you :???:

OT I'm Norwegian and British not Swedish HAHAHAHAHAHA that explains everything I'm pretty sure. Dad is a full blood and Mom is a half breed. So I got the kooky Norske humor with the dry Brit Wit.

Hey.. I'm part Swede... I don't get it

I got way to much Brit in me though and judging from my relatives, the Grandmother who is 1/2 Scotish and 1/2 english seems to have the best sense of humour... Although the swedes that I met in my family were pretty funnyfolks and knew how to have a good time dontcha know..

Judith, considering that the Vikings plundered Britain and left their genetic mark there as well you probably have even more Norwegian/Swedish/Danish in you- for good or ill  Skoal!
