I'm not worried about myself or my habit. Heck, I patronize plenty of non-smoking establishments. If you don't like smoke, don't go to places where smoking is allowed and don't work there!!!!!

I don't know how you guys can think it right to impose a rule on a private business that may cost them money. They can make the choice based on what is best for their business.

And yes, I don't like seat belt laws either.
Don't visit Alberta....we have the toughest smoking law in Canada....and a seatbelt law....we're also the strongest conservative province in Canada,so can't blame the liberals for these laws.

Gee thanks for the un-invititation :cry2:

Seriously, and I'm keeping things civil here, what are some examples of Alberta's smoking laws that are tougher than other places?
My post came across rude I didn't mean it to be....of course visit Alberta,just be prepared of both our smoking and seatbelt law{implemented by CONSERVATIVE government,I just have to get that dig into to all the liberal haters :p }

Heres a brief outline of our smoking law....

Smoking prohibited in all public places and workplaces.
No smoking allowed within five meters of a doorway, window or intake of a public workplace.
Tobbacco sales no longer permitted from healthcare facilities, post secondary campuses, pharmacies or stores that contain pharmacies.
18 and under in possession or consuming tabbacco products will be found guilty of a fine no more $100.
No smoking in Alberta prisons by prisoners or gaurds
As of July1/08 retail displays, advertising or prommotion of tobbacco products prohibited.

I also know its prohibited to smoke in any workplace vehical that will be used by more then one employee.

because it is unhealthy for their employees......that is why there is a ban...goverment protects employees.......

If that employee thinks it would be an unhealthy environment, why would they want to go to work there in the first place?

Some people work in places they don't want to simply because of lack of jobs and the need for money.

Oh come on now. Jobs are not that hard to come by!

WOW! Does Alberta infringe on a lot of other private property rights or is tobacco and smokers the target of choice?

BTW, I pretty well knew how you meant the "Don't come to Alberta" comment. I just had to throw a comment back at it :cowboy: Actually, I've never been across the border to the North and would love to come up there some time.
