judith-----you are just tooooo funny!!!!   We here in Montana feel the same way....can always tell when the folks from the "sunny states" are up here....driving their fancy, $60,000 4-wheel-drives and ENDING UP IN THE DITCH because 4 wheel drive does NOT stop you on BLACK ICE!!!    Raining here real good right now, but temp is dropping quickly and supposed to turn to snow by morning which means idiots on black ice concealed under a think layer of the white stuff!! All of you out there in this please BE CAREFUL!!!!

I always dred the first snowstorm out here... The snowmobiliers of this area think that every closed gate into a field is an invitaiton to open it and come on int and that your dormate fields are their playground... With our liability laws around here it makes it a bit nervous if someone takes a nasty crash even if they were tresspassing... Darn trial lawyers and insurance companies to eager to settle.

I love this time of the year and take great sport in it :) There is nothing more fun than waving at the guy in the 4WD who just cut you off, flipped you the bird and is now sailing down the freeway BACKWARDS 8) at 120KMH. Ya just smile real pretty like and wave like the queen :) You are snickering to yourself and thinking I was born in the Kootneys baby...take that....

We politely refer to it as "partaking of the herb".

I would prefer that the four letter word stay north of here for at least another month or two..

Yep, always heard partaking in the herb and a few others that I can't quit remember... Can't say that I ever tried the stuff personally... Never appealed to me. We did get our killing frost and the bug population is much, much lower now... MOst of the flies are gone and that is really all that matters to me..

Speaking of partaking of the herb, read a story in the Western Producer about a 55 yr. old woman in Poland feeding it to one of her cows. Cow was just nuts, so she figured that since it mellows people, it should cows too, if fed a larger quantity. Well, it did work, but the lady is in big trouble now with the law.
