We're getting ours goign today, the 5oo and the 44o, but I am looking for a 600 or a 700. Used, POLARIS, preferrably not older than a 97, and not jumpy like the one we have lol.

Sled preferences anyone?

Since yer bound and determined to stick with a Polaris, try to find one of the lighter models like an XC, XCR or ProX. Stay away from the 700 as they had alot of problems with the bearing on the PTO side. If you find a 'can't pass this up' deal on a 700, spend the extra 3 or 400 bucks on one of the change-up kits. And be ready to spend alot of money on gas. The 700 was horrible for fuel efficiency.

Since I know it'll tick you off, I'm gonna say it :p Find an MXZ. Either a 583 or the 683. The engines are bullet proof, torquey and the sleds are light. When we go riding, I let a buddy of mine ride my REV once in awhile and I take his 96 MXZ. That ZX chassis sled is a hoot to throw around in the snow and it jumps like kangaroo. The MXZ isn't as nice on the trails as a Polaris, but off trail there isn't an older Polaris that'll ride with it.

Rodf Ill bet ya a tanf of fuel that my 700 right now will take that skee-doo. lol.

Some of our cousins have two XCSP's, I like them for at the lake, or on the trails, but for when I go out to piddle in the carmel hils, youre going to need a long track with at least two inch lugs to pull thru :p

I have a feeling IOm going to wait till summer to look, Mabye a nice 600 RMK or a SWITCHBACK lol.

As for horrible fuel efficency, Im experienced there, I put on prolly 1400 km last year, and it hurt my wallet, alot lighter to carry around lol.

Know of a good used one hanging around?

I dont think I will need that switchback, cause the 500 is mine now 8). Sheldon likes the 440 and the 700 has too much kick for me, so im going to get my 5 all fixed up. It is in the shop right now getting new Fox shocks. I am looking for some decals to trick it out with yet, been trying to find one of barbed wire for around the front of it, and a bullet hole for the side. Im going to put a 3 inch riser on the handlebars and get a 2 inch track instead of the 1 1/2 it has now :p

Babe-magnet material. lol. It is a 1997 polaris INDY 500 SKS.
