The snow covers the tops of fence posts in some areas. Here in Nebraska, the snow sticks to the sides of the posts.

Looks like a sticky situation. I think your driving snow storm came through here yesterday. The wind was howling and the temp droped from 84 Tues. to 45 yesterday with a driving rain. We had our big pre conditioned stocker sale yesterday in Sulphur Springs, TX and the guys driving the cattle in the alleys horseback were putting in a miserable day. I though the cattle sold decent. We had our first "Angus sired" segment of the sale. Some 5 weight steers sold for 1.25. Their heifer mates brought 1.21

No danger of snow here yesterday. The chinook wind was blowing, howling, actually. Blew a semi over just north of here and had some others parked on the side of the road where they had shelter behind trees. There was a grass fire over the hill, so no one got much sleep. Haven't heard the extent of it, but with the wind it would be impossible to fight. The wind is picking up again now, just in time for me to leave for work.

LOL RobertMac.......I wholeheartedly agree with ya. I admire those that live in the north and can deal with the winter weather and all it intails with feeding cattle and such, but I'm not one that could live up there. I thank the Good Lord he Planted me in Texas!!!!!!

What is a "wooses?"
Should I be mad?
Naw I can't be mad, I live in Dixie.
Canadian for snow wimp :p

I love snow. It means a day off work spent at home by the fire nursing the generator along. Around here when it snows everthing closes while we wait for it to melt.
Yeah we like snow.

Well I'll admit it...I'm a "wooses" when it comes to cold weather, not so much the snow, but that cold biting wind. Gimme a good ole southern winter anytime.
I'll take my chances with the Tornadoes n Hurricanes and the hot weather we have in the summer time. (which is 9 months outta the year LOL)

Always thought it was spelled wusses Mrs. Greg but how stupid am I... I live in a place where we can get 20 inch snow storms and tornados.. Most snow events are more like 3-5 inches mind you and it doesn't stick to long but sometimes it will stick for a few weeks or even a month, we generally have up and down as far as winter temps go.. IT can do the -6 thing for a high or it could do a 52 for a high and sometimes it is in the same week..

Last winter or the winter before we had a thunder snow storm... Very strange , looked lige bombs going off in the distance as the air was so thick with snow that there was very little visibility but hose flashes still showed up..
