nr,those chupacabras are pretty much mexican folk lore and fiction, probably started by some lil ole mexican lady that had some chickens stole, and or feral dogs killed one of her goats.
Lots of mexican folk lore and superstition along the Rio grande, most of it started by those damn "Curandero's"or mexican witch doctors,I would tell you a story bout a run in I had with one,but kinda embarassing to my ole friend elmo :D :D
good luck

If I still had pictures I'd post them... a cop friend of mine here was sent pictures from a cop friend of hers in Texas ---- a chupacabra, killed by a patrolman --it looked like a mutated coyote starved down to nothing -- but the snout and "fangs" were more than a dog or coyote -- So it may be folklore based on some weird looking mutated critter.

Julie, you probably already know this but.........if you wanna find that picture or another on the net,put the subject matter in the window of your favorite search engine, then instead of clicking "search the web" click images,I suppose this is the one you are talking about ?
good luck
PS if this picture offends anyone.......let me know and I will delete it,it is kinda rank!!!

I'm not sure that is the picture Haymaker...there were several and they looked more like they'd been taken with a Kodak disposable :) --

That thing doesn't look anything like the one in the first pic you posted :)

Looks like a starved coyote to me. One that has a super extreme underbite, which probably caused the starvation (not bein able to eat right)

As for the other picture....looks like someone was havin a field day with their photo program.

Finally they're using modern technology to decide what it really is.
But can you imagine stuffing the head and having to look at it daily
