Good luck on getting some moisture and on the gray horse, Haymaker.

My friend in Aubrey, Texas says the bottom has fallen out of
the horse market there. Good horses, of course, will bring what
someone will pay, but those at sales are really down. Like $600 for
a horse with 60 days on him.

Haymaker let that thing spin some moisture right on up to here- we could use one good soaker before we starting cutting the second cutting and combining...

I took down a 1/4 mile of wire today...Have a fence I need to move to the other side of an irrigation canal so I can get some land leveled this fall...Thats the easy part- now I have to pull and move the posts and the wire..

Hay baling rained out AGAIN.

So we spent a lovely  day building a new loading ramp. Our old portable loader is getting dangerous, so we made a nice new permanent one to take the thrill out of loading semis. :D :D :D

Finishing up the last of the winter wheat. Ran out of room in the bin at the strips and had to move the auger back home here. 20 mile round trip.
Bought a used camera on e-Bay.
Fixed some corral planks. Weeded my garden.

AHHH- ain't that terrible   Just like when you run out of bin space and have to pile it on the ground- hate to do it- but it sure is nicer than the alternative, when several years we couldn't even get half the bins full...

Any idea how its running yet....I know you folks over there in the golden triangle almost have a disaster if it isn't at least a 50 bushel crop  :p

Cut hay most of yesterday, the wife raked. Got started baling about 4 PM
made 1 bale and blew a hose for the pickup, got that out of the baler, looked across the meadow and here comes the wife with a broken PTO shaft on the rake.
Phoned the fix-it guy down in Anahim and he made a new hose last night, robbed a PTO from our spare rake and we're ready to attack again today.
Pile of wolf-shi# on the road right full of cow hair, hope it's the neighbor's . :) No time to look right now.

OT we ran at 44 bushel an acre on the ok strips and 55 an acre on the better stuff. averaged out to 48 bushel an acre in all. :D
Protein was pretty good on the good stuff, had it tested today and it was at 13%. The worse was 9%. Weight was all in the 60's. :p :D
Saw a neighbors today. Sawfly hit them really hard, over half of their stuff was on the ground. :(
We went to the solid stem winter wheat a couple of years ago.

One bad thing about working on the corral is I found one entire side moves when you push on it. Good news is I have a bunch of metal corral panels I never got put up somewhere else. Let the corral replacement start.

Rained nearly all day here, no wind or nothin just nice rain. Made it hard to clean out the trailer, gettin it ready to leave for State finals. But got most of it done. Although if the sun shines any at all tomorrow I'll be out there with the vaccuum cleaner, Cuz that aint done yet. Too wet. I did however get everything in the house washed LOL I don't even know how many loads of stuff I put thru the washer. From clothes to quilts, sheets, you name it, I washed it. She's got her leg wraps and bell boots in there now. I don't know how much rain we have had so far, haven't been to the gate to check the guage. Looks like it's about to go on north of us now.

Haymaker. Did you get any of it at all??? From what I've seen of radar it don't look like much went your way at all.

Looks like north Texas and Oklahoma may get some tomorrow if it flares up when the temps rise.

Horses have a heart, not an engine.

Got a phone call from a freind while on my way to a repair that my cows were out, so I changed directions and headed to our lease.

Cows were back in by time I got there, found a blown Cypress tree over the fence, so I had the pleasure of cutting that up and repairing fence while knee deep in swamp crap.

Went on and finished repair job.

Sure is hot right now......
