Subpoenaed Palin aides don't appear at abuse probe

BY MATT VOLZ
Associated Press Writer

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) -- Seven of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's top aides defied subpoenas for their testimony Friday into possible abuse of power by the governor. Palin's Chief of Staff Mike Nizich and six other aides failed to appear at a legislative hearing into whether Palin abused her power when she fired her public safety commissioner this summer.

Alaska Senate Judiciary Chairman Hollis French, D-Anchorage, waited 30 minutes Friday before reading a statement that the witnesses could be found in contempt when the full Legislature convenes in January.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST

You're correct- rule of law and following the Constitutional separation of power of branches of government has been a conflict of interest with Bush/Cheney and apparently it is with McBusch/Palin now too...

Why could be and why in January? Not sure how these things work but a Red flag is waving if you ask me.

If they broke the law why wait until January and why not say they will be found in contempt?

Is this even an actual legal hearing?

:?

The Alaskan legislature doesn't come back into session again until in January...
She's just stalling to get past the election- but it could bite her in her fanny in the debates and months to come....
People are tired of the Bush tactics- and want some openness and transparency back into their government- and want to see them again respect the rule of law...

She's not going, and she shouldn't go, because the people heading the investigation have a huge conflict of interest, they're Obama supporters - have even written personal checks to his campaign. She would be a fool to testify to a kangaroo court like that.
