Anyone who thinks that Obama Care is finished should hedge their bets.
Social Security was passed in 1937 and has grown past all expectations ever since. You could repeal sunshine
easier than cutting Social Security.
Medicare came about in the early 1960s and has grown by leaps and bounds. Probably costs more now than
the Department of Defense.
Medicaid ia purely medical welfare. Most of those who got insurance as a result of Obama Care are on Medicaid -
which is medicare for those (of all ages) who never paid into the system.
Obama Care added a bunch of taxes to fund the program (at least partially)
If Republicans are successul in repealing these taxes, there are millions who now have their
feet in the trough that will be unhappy. Politicians can't have this, so the funding of the new
program will probably come out of the federal budget and be added to the national debt. Just look at the Department
of Agriculture budget which includes another big program - food stamps.
The situation is pretty bleak. I am close to the exit from this world. Those remaining around
do not have good reason to cheer.
I promise the next generation we will leave them a problem to solve - maybe more than one.
