Soldier Scott Easterling

A U.S. soldier on active duty in Iraq has called President Obama an "impostor" in a statement in which he affirmed plans to join as plaintiff in a challenge to Obama's eligibility to be commander in chief.

The statement was publicized by California attorney Orly Taitz who, along with her Defend Our Freedom Foundation, is working on a series of legal cases seeking to uncover Obama's birth records and other documents that would reveal whether he meets the requirements of the U.S. Constitution.

"As an active-duty officer in the United States Army, I have grave concerns about the constitutional eligibility of Barack Hussein Obama to hold the office of president of the United States," wrote Scott Easterling in a "to-whom-it-may-concern" letter.

Then again, Obama could just present his birth cert. and put an end to all the cases and lower his lawyer bills at the same time. After all, there's nothing fishy about it...... His actions so far have made perfect sense.

Why worry that a Kenyan socialist has defied the Constitution and become President of this country? Is that what you're asking?

No- Why would he worry about the lawyer expenses- you and all taxpayers are paying it as they pick up all costs of the White House council....

The military is a very large institution.

It would seem logical that nearly all points of view are represented in its ranks.

Therefore it is not surprise that there are wingnuts in uniform.

I just wonder if they line their Kevlar with tinfoil.

Eventually a lit match will land on the dry brush. Everyting will be in uproar and the libs are going to be totally shocked. The media might even take notice.

I think a better analogy would be a man standing at the beach wearing a tinfoil helmet feverishly lighting matches and tossing them into the ocean with hopes of setting it afire.

Not on personal stuff like this that preceeds his election. They didn't pay for Bill Clinton's.

This isn't preceding the election anymore- its post election...Obama now is in the White House....And just like everybody since Nixon- I'll bet Obama has brought all his private attorneys on board as White House counsel...

GW did- Nixon did...Many ofThe Plumber group of Nixons were White House Counsel...

Are you understanding what is going on here OT?

If this enlisted Soldier, Scott Easterling, refuses to obey orders, subject to court martial under the Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ)

As a defendant he will definitely have "standing" to subpoena individuals, records and documents for his defense.

You're dreaming....   Military Courts Martials have even more limited rules of evidence than civilian courts...A rightwingernut conspiracy theory wouldn't even be allowed to be brought up for refusal to obey an order....

Not to the point of restricting his ability to be defended. Can the Pres. claim "Executive Priviledge" in a case like this and if so why would he want to??? The young man's future and entire life is at stake.

If you follow the precedent set by GW- everything the President or anyone that works or has ever worked for him can claim "executive privilege" and "administrative immunity".....

OT, can you give us your interpretation of the constitution when it comes to the definition of "Natural Born Citizen"?

At least help out all us conspiracy theory junkies!

Why did McCain show his documents? Who asked for them to be presented?

The natural born definition/law is pages long- and has been changed- and added to many times...And there are sections and subsections about who is and ain't when born on foreign soil, in territories, military posts, etc. etc.......Even the baby born to an illegal alien that sneaks across the border to have her kid is considered natural born citizen....

So the son of an American natural born citizen woman born in Hawaii- (or wherever for that matter, since the mother was a US natural citizen) should certainly be considered a natural born citizen- unless after they had reached age of majority- they had renounced that citizenship and taken the citizenship of another country....

And you'll have to ask McCain why he showed his documents...
