Opec sells oil for approximately $130 per barrel.
Opec nations buy our grain for approximately $7 a bushel.
Solution: sell our grain for $128 a bushel !
Opec nations can't afford to buy grain at that price?
Eat your oil !!!!!

I think that would level the playing field quickly... :!:

You've hit on a big nerve there and the trick to the whole equation.

Drill, drill, drill here in the USA and decrease the dependency on OPEC oil is the answer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jimmy Carter already tried the grain embargo trick. It broke millions of farmers in the U.S. :???:

I agree, drilling here is the answer to the problem. I received the little solution to the problem as an email yesterday and thought to myself. Wouldn't it be nice if that could be done. Unfortunately it can't be solved quite that easily.
