The elements of the Cain plan are 9 percent flat tax on household income, a 9 percent corporate tax, and a 9 percent national sales tax. There are no deductions except for charity.

I am not against a flat tax,... I am against sales tax..

and I am not against lowering income and corporate tax rates..

what I expect would happen.. maybe not at first.. but over time...

we will be stuck with a sales tax, deductions will come back and all the rates will rise...

"WE THINK"...heck I was thinking about him as a good
presidential candidate and wanted to know more.

At least I didn't have my head in the sand when it came to
voting for Obama. I think you are a sore loser, jingo2--
your man won in 2008, but America lost...thanks to people
like you.

Why don't you slither back under that rock kola..Sheesh............

Yes fasters, I've been thinking about that when he came out with that 9-9-9.
The economist say it will be good for America..What I wonder about is that we are such a throw away society, that maybe if we had a higher tax on merchandise, the products we buy would be better and there for less spending on ferivous items..

we have 7% in NJ and 9% locally... and it doesn't stop people from wasting money....

a high consumer tax only hurts the locality, as shoppers turn elsewhere..

I did a economics paper on the luxury tax and how it let foreign cars invade our mid-range auto market.. and destroyed our Hugh luxury boat market...

boat buyers went overseas, and our luxury car market couldn't quickly lower costs, so japan flooded the mid range with up-marketed midsized cars.. (Lexus /Acura )... it was easier to add a few luxury items to a midsized car and keep the cost just under the luxury tax cutoff..

on the low end shoppers would not opt for quality but search for cheaper substitute.. only hurting our manufacturing more..
