We are really excited here in our household today. Our son, 21 years old, has been takin college courses and workin part time. Applied for a job at an oilfield pipe manufacturin place in a neighborin town. He turned in his application and took his test today. Out of a possible 300 score, he scored.........300!!!! So he's hired. A Texas A&M graduate took the test last week, and failed. So I felt really good about his test score. LOL He Has to go take a physical tomorrow, then his first day is Monday. This is a 50K to 60k a year job. We are so excited for him, a great company that also will pay for any further college courses he wants to take. Along with payin for all his training that he'll need to be in Quality controll, ultrasonic testing pipe. Great benefits, ins. 401K, retirement, etc.

Yippeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!

WOW  We are so very proud of him, too. You don't mention your son very much, Lilly and I was wondering what was going on in his life.

Sounds like a wonderful job, and he worked hard to get it!

LOL Thanks everyone for the congrats for him. He's a very well rounded kid, but kinda quiet. He likes to do things that are different from anyone elses interests here at home. Not a bad thing, but just different. As I've said before, he will help us when we work cattle, but it's not his cup of tea. So more often than not these days when we work em, I give him the paperwork and let him handle that end of the deal. Beats havin to fill syringes and give shots, fill tag guns, tag calves, AND try to write stuff down myself. LOL the paperwork stays alot cleaner too. And he likes that better'n bein on the ground workin cows.
We were just as involved in his highschool endeavors as we are Lil Lilly, but since he's been outta school now for 3 years, all the focus seems to be on her stuff.
We spent the day together today, I went with him to get his physical taken care of, and then we went to the computer store lookin, and out to eat. We did alot of talkin about things that he wants to do in the future. Either buy a place or maybe build a house somewhere here on the place. I told him, what ever was fine, as long as he sets goals, and puts money back to accomplish em. We'll gladly help him anyway we can. It's not too often that we get a day together away from everthing else....and it was really nice.
