Some of the better Mirages I have seen.

The fog to the east of us this AM, and humidity, made for some outstanding mirages this morning. I took them as I was feeding, and I was not upset at how well they showed up on the camera.

Not a mirage, but a picture I liked.

To quote old Ian from his song Springtime....

Bald Eagles back in the cottonwood tree
The old brown hills are just about bare
Springtime sighing all along the creek
Magpies (meadowlarks here) ganging up everywhere

It has been up to 63 deg. so far today, so the song isn't too off the mark. :D

I really liked the first picture. How far away actually are those knobby hills?

I would guess that the hills that are amplified into mirages are about 10-15 miles from here. That is not a direction that we usually see mirages from. I like the first picture a lot too Shelly. Thanks!

Really neat pictures, now that you and TTB have shown me that you can take pics of mirages I will try it someday.

I also meant to tell you I really liked the honda pic in another of your threads..I'd blow that one up,barnwood frame it and hang it on your wall of choice.

Great pictures Tap. That first one sure looks like an old man with a hat on leaning agains the hill looking out on the range. Probably Jinglebob, wishing he hadn't given up this site for a couple of months.
