New cow dog training. Anyone think a Corgi/Australian Shepard has any potential?

A little canola swathing action beside the auction market.

Too wet to swath much else. Units sitting waiting for some sun. Crops are pretty green so not much straight cutting is going to happen this year due to not wanting things to snow down while we wait.

Speaking of snow, we had some visitors and snow in the same morning.

Of course it warmed up and cleared after they left.

I enjoyed Faster and Mr. Faster but the visit was faster than I would have liked.

Still raining but we haven't been below -1.5C so believe it or not haven't had a killing frost at the farm. Somewhat colder in the foothills where the cows are hanging out. Not really sure what the dog is but he sure is a smart little bugger.

After complaining about a dry summer we are fast forgetting our semi-drought conditions.
Blue sky is appreciated after any extended period of clouds.

May we all be blessed with enough good weather to finish harvesting and haying.

Frost here Friday morning flattened what was left of the garden. Tomatoes, pumpkins, zucchini were all looking pretty ragged, but the pigs sure didn't complain. Seems strange though, our swath grazing isn't wilting at all yet, and lots of things look just fine in places. Time will tell just how killer this killing frost really was.

Grain farmers are in a bad way around here. Tough to watch bumper crops turning to feed, then go beyond that to where you begin to wonder how they'll even make feed out of it. We've had another 7/10's of rain here today, and it's still coming down on fields that were already wet. One neighbour told me all their canola pods mash in your hand like mashed taters.
