How bout RA and saler?
Good looking critter no matter what he is.

certs the winner!!!

He is indeed 1/2 Red Angus (GP Catalyst is the sire) and 1/2 Saler (Herculus is the maternal grand sire) I also believe that Red Robin was the breeder of Herculus.

He was a very nice calf who I think might have won his division in the Saler show in Denver. His breeder, Will MacDonald told me he is probably the easiest calf they've ever broke to lead.

I really didn't mean for this to end up as a contest, but it was fun. I'll let someone else do the next one though. Maybe Big Muddy  ?

Cheers---

TTB

I've seen some real dandy looking saler from Red Robin's place. Matter of fact, I've just flat out seen some outstanding animals that Red Robin has bred.

Might fine animal. Looks like that RA/saler cross is working for more than one person.

Lazy Ace...is my prize a "cold one"?

cert...you come visit and you can have all the cold one's you want. I wish my prize for you would be a healed up back  sorry I can't deliver that!

Good job cert...and yes RR does breed some dandies.

Cheers----

Oh I'm kidding...I know that they have been working hard with the saler breed to improve dispositions-- but I had so many years experience working with the ones of old, that that old impression is hard to dispel...

The first ones Leachmans brought into this country were taller than most saddle horses- did not need gates in corrals/fences to move them- and were easier worked if you had a little rodeo bullfighting experience in your background....

Don't see many Salers around here anymore. That bull was extremely smooth compared to the Salers we used to see,
Hercules was pretty smooth BMR. He was probably the smoothest bull I ever sold. I sold a piece of him to a man in alberta ...can't think of his name at the moment but I could find it. Here's a pic of him in 2000.

He was a november yearling here in Jan.

Gordon Miller was his name. McDonalds bought posession. They've drug him out of the stock tank twice I think. Once he froze his ears off. I think he's still alive and they're using him naturally. edit: Just got off the phone to a fella hunting some semen. They said that they shipped the bull this fall but he felt he might have got hurt. He said he saw him this spring and he was sound as a cat. No troubles. Anyway, he was nice bull and did me some good.

Thanks for taking us along with you TTB. Looks like you see lots of interesting things with your work. As much as I would like some moisture, the pictures make me appreciate our weather here last week. Today was another story.

If any of you are old enough to remember the Saler bull TVF Frenchman

well....he's a rug now and on my den floor!!!!

He was HUGE and loved ice cream sandwiches!!!!!!!
