We move the herd onto newly harvested barley, undersown to ryegrass and clover. The dry sow huts and 'sow barns' are positioned for winter, east facing, offset where necessary to prevent prevailing winds blowing through the enterance. When the weather warms enough in mid May, we re-position the sow accomodation west facing, and off the winter straw beds which become a 'lounging' area in the summer.burnt said:andybob, how long do those shelters stay in one field?
