A NATION MOURNS

Watch the Service LIVE here Video

Fifteen thousand mourning Americans converged on Fort Hood (with thousands more outside the Fort). They came to pray for those we owe an incalculable debt.

The crowd is much larger than expected .......... they expected five thousand, America showed up.

We are waiting for O......

UPDATE: O is speaking. He is reciting the bios of the victims. He hasn't said anything. If he does, I'll let you know.

STANDBY: OBAMA AND THE MRS JUST ARRIVED IN TEXAS FOR THEIR FORT HOOD PHOTO OP UPDATE: HASAN'S MOSQUE LEADERS ARRIVE AS WELL

Is he still not"jumping to conclusions"? Please tell me he is not going to speechify, admonish us and desecrate this memorial. I won't hold my breath waiting to hear him promise to avenge the enemy in this unprecedented attack on America on a US military base. Of course it is wholly appropriate for the President to be there to help comfort the families of the fallen. But Obama's outreach and submission to the jihad forces across the world make this bone he is throwing void of credibility. It is more distraction than comfort. He should have been there on day one.

Perhaps he'll announce his commitment to sending another 30,000 to the pointless, homicidal mission in Afghanistan (victory is not the goal).

US Army soldiers bow their heads before the start of the III Corps and Fort Hood Memorial Ceremony November 10, 2009 held to honor the victims of the shootings which took place on the Fort Hood Army post in Fort Hood, Texas

UPDATE: It just gets worse. From Weasel Zippers:

The religious leaders of a radicalized terrorist, and POTUS, are probably the most unwelcome people that will be in attendance. What a slap in the face . . .

ABC - Leaders from the mosque where alleged shooter Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan worshipped are on their way today to Fort Hood to attend the memorial service in a move some hope will help ease suspicion and anger between Muslims and the military base, still reeling from last week's tragedy.

"We are partners in the healing process," Maj. John Zavage, an Arabic-speaking specialist in Middle Eastern affairs who came to transport four members of the mosque of the Islamic Community of Greater Kileen onto the post, told ABC News' Bob Woodruff.

But as Zavage spoke, FBI agents swarmed the mosque, going through trash cans and even taking a few items with them. (So why the hell are the leaders of this Mosque allowed on the very base that one of their followers killed/wounded soldiers and shattered families? -ed)

Dr. Mansoor Farooqi, a pediatrician and president of the mosque, as well as the co-founder Ofman Danquah, will attend the memorial service today along with two other members of the mosque.

In addition to the mosque members, soldiers, families and officials alike are steeling themselves for what's expected to be an intensely emotional day at Fort Hood as the country mourns the loss of 12 soldiers and a single civilian killed in last week's shooting rampage at the Army post.

President Obama will attend the 1 p.m. service, which is open to the public. The president told ABC News' Jake Tapper Monday he is "heartbroken" over the shooting.

My one word would be: OUTRAGED. Sure as hell not 'heartbroken'. What's yours?

Winston Churchill got it right in the run-up to World War II, when good people couldn't bear to look evil in the face. "The malice of the wicked," he said, "is reinforced by the weakness of the virtuous."

OBAMA SUCCUMBS TO RELENTLESS PATRIOT PRESSURE AND LOWERS THE FLAG ...NO RESPECT FOR OUR WAR DEAD, JUST RESPECT ISLAM

The White House did not lower the flags to half mast... until a woman got on their case and wouldn't let up. The biggest attack on the largest military base, and the America hater in the White House can't see fit to lower flags. He'll run the Chicom flag up the flagpole, but he can't bring himself to respect the righteous men and women who lay down their lives every day so that he can play basketball with Reggie every afternoon.

Here's the story:

Thanks to our “embedded Texas patriot” in D.C., Anita Ross, the White House agreed to lower their flags to half-mast in honor of the Ft. Hood massacre.

FYI…the White House/staff had no intention of lowering the flags…in fact, early Friday AM after the “closet Muslim terrorist” had finished his “atrocity against Army” warriors, the flags were raised to “full staff.”

Incensed and incredulous at the POTUS and his staff/subordinates’ complete disregard and disrespect for the dead, dying, and wounded in Texas…flying the Flag at “full staff” in D.C. was unacceptable to Anita Ross…a Patriot from Texas A & M and the mother of a Marine currently serving in Afganistan.

Anita burned up the phone lines in D.C. and in Texas…Congressmen/women…Governor Perry’s office…White House…all heard from her as she “assaulted the arrogance” of the clueless bureaucrats who mostly despise our military…demanding that honor be shown by lowering the flags.

She was stonewalled, ignored, shunned…everywhere but in Texas.

When it became obvious that the Liar-in-Chief and his team were completely ignorant, insensitive and insipid toward the “atrocity” (not “tragedy”) at Ft. Hood…

When it became obvious that Anita Ross was not going to take “no” for an answer…

When it became obvious that Duty, Honor, Country deserved recognition…

When it became obvious that Americans true to the Red/White/Blue demanded “half mast” honor…

The clowns in D.C. lowered the flags…

I am no backer of Obama, but there is enough dirt out there that we don't have to dig for more. Let's just make honest assesments of him.

Come on Pig Farmer, your stretching it this time. Even she couldn't be happy in this situation.

Per surely you are aware of the old saying.

A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS.

I stand my ground the picture speaks for everything ever attributed to her. For the first time in her life in 2008 she was proud of her country. Need I say more?

You seem to be as radical as the true radicals.

Why do you hate your country so bad?

Well its like this. I live in one of the greatest countries on the face of the earth. Today being VETERANS DAY even makes it more important.

Millions have fought died and suffered disabilities for the Freedom and liberties in our Constitution AS WELL AS TO HELP MILLIONS AROUND THE WORLD HAVE FREEDOM. So I guess my radicalism as you would call it is nothing more than wanting to protect and raise awareness to the facts. That what these brave and great AMERICANS FOUGHT DIED AND SUFFERED FOR IS AT STAKE OF FALLING BY THE WAY SIDE.

So if making the facts aware as to who seeks to undermine this Great country bought and paid for with the blood of GREAT AMERICANS. you feel damn free to call me a radical 365 days a year.

President and First Lady Honoring the Soldiers Lives.

having been to a few to many funerals, some devastatingly tragic ones, when a speaker is honoring the dead, often they tell of moments that reflect on the wonderful lives led, and in those moments happy memories, even funny memories are reminded of, memories that contrast starkly with the tragedy.

the memories are meant to show about the life lived, not the death of a moment. I want to be remembered for my full life lived, and I am sure even if it is cut short by a horrific tragedy, I want my life remembered, not the moment of death and hatred. I am sure the soldiers lives that were being honored felt the same..

if our First Lady may have heard a comment or remembered a moment of life, that gave her and others comfort, then she should have smiled at how richly our servicemen and women live. but we don't know.. and if she meant to keep the emotion in, as I would also have tried to do, it might be captured as a strained smile.

I have laughed, smiled and cried at funerals.. most of the emotions displayed at funerals kept within, unseen by the other mourners.. but at a funeral, for as sad as I may be, as a Christian I celebrate the life led, and cry for those left behind.

I am truly sad and mourn the loss of life of our fine young soldiers,.. but had I known the soldiers personally, I to could reflect on full lives led and smile with them on their final mission..

may GOD bless our soldiers on this Veterans' day.. and care for those he takes home with him now with love and a smile.

I understand where you are coming from Steve.

That said we all know where obama is coming from both him and the one that sat in Rev wrights church for 20 years right beside him. Lets not forget the 2 daughters in attendance also.

Surely out of the 2 of them one would have listened to the sermons. There aint no way I see anything from the two of these except disdain for America and its people.

Lets also remember that if he accepts her ways or vice versa neither one is better than the other.

Seems if I REMEMBER correctly he denied ayes/rev wright/ and a few more. Damn sure got to know them pretty quick being as many visits to the white house in one year. Look at all the visits by the rev also.

:disagree: :disagree: :disagree:

Yet our Netanyahu has to be squeezed in for a visit. Or the potus is to busy to meet with his General.

I do believe the saying is birds of a feather flock together.

If this is the way you behave.....I'd guess there are plenty that deny you also.

You are so full of hate that you see it everywhere..

I'd say you are one to be wary of.

You seem to think I'm liberal. Well I'm a reg Rep. but have voted both Rep & Dem over the yrs.

I'm willing to give the man , Obama, a chance as he's facing problems no other Pres in our history has EVER faced.
