Something to think about

With all the changes coming ahead for me in the next 2 months this helped a small bit. It was sent to me today ...thought I would share.

Love starts with a smile, grows with a kiss, and ends with a tear.
Don't cry over anyone who won't cry over you.
Good friends are hard to find, harder to leave, and impossible to forget.Don't let the past hold you back, you're missing the good stuff.
BEST FRIENDS are the siblings God forgot to give us.
When it hurts to look back, and you're scared to look ahead, you can look beside you and your BEST FRIEND will be there.

Nobody is perfect until you fall in love with them.

txag, I think you are onto something there!!

I always thought that once engaged, the bride to be should spend a month at her future mother-in-laws to learn how to cook the stuff the groom likes!

nothing beats moms cooking

My future daughter-in-law is a great cook,my son always teases her,"this doesn't taste like moms, moms is better" lol I told her its right of passage,I heard that from Greg now my son says it,someday her son will say it to his girl :)
TXAG,I like the way you think

Oh, fer cryin out loud!!

Does that not mean the groom should spend a month with the brides
father learning how he does things? Imagine that! :p

My husband would tell you that I am a much better cook than his
mother...'course that's not all good either. He was much thinner when
he lived at home.

(Seriously, my MIL is a pretty decent cook, but she can't cook
beef for anything. Cooks it wayyyy too long. Now pork is a different
story. No one can cook pork as good as her. Oh, and her milk gravy
is really good too.

But it's nothing for her to cook steaks and put them in the oven for an
hour or more before time to eat.

I'm with you on this one, FH!!!!!!!!!!!! Except I couldn't have married anyone more like my dad, if I'da tried!!!!!!!!!!!!

My MIL is a wonderful cook (she makes the best bread :D ), but she likes to do it, which I don't. I think that makes all the difference in the world, personally.

Hubby used to say he liked his mom's _________ better than mine, I would just tell him to go eat at her house, then. Save me from having to cook for ya! It didn't take long till he quit saying things like that!

If it didn't get me riled, it wasn't worth the effort!

Got him!

Been living in my kids great grandmothers house right behind mother inlaw& father in law. Mother in laws brother and his wife live across the street from me and Father in laws parents live katy corner to me. I have been very lucky in the way Ex handled supporting me and our kids...till now. So I am moving to Texas the end of june and will be on my own 2 feet. I should get a few hundred dollars in support but not going to hold my breath. Have a court date mid july to determine amount since what we had worked out was really up to him as to how much. He did make sure our kids got what they needed till he was told about me seeing someone then found out it was true.
I know it will be a MAJOR change in the way I am use to living but it is needed for the kids. With no family left I am doing the next best thing and going close to my best friend. Her family treats me as one of thier own. They took very good care of my daughter last summer and she is close to them. So I guess I have family just not the one God took from me.
I will be going basicly with the clothes I can pack in my car and my kids. I will come back for Court and get a trailer to bring back some other things if he doesnt throw a fit. I am sure I will find a job ....might not be with school system but it will pay the bills. Not much of savings but will get about 2 months -3 months pay for sick & bonus time once I turn in my notice. So off I go LOL on a broken wing and a LOT of prayer.

What part of Texas are you moving to?

I know how you feel about just packing up and moving out. I did the same thing when I was 22....packed my pickup and drove to Texas only to find a house to live in after I got here. It is hard and I didn't have any kids or that kind of added stress, but just know that you can do it! It is hard at first but you obviously have thought this out a little and once you get here and get settled and find a job you'll be so happy! Atleast you do have a good friend here to help you through the hard times and to lend a shoulder.

Thanks you know they say there is a fine line between bravery and stupidity BUT I found out this afternoon which side I am on and its NOT the stupid side.
I will say I am terrified ....they say its what you do with that fear that counts so I am going on that to get me through.

Good luck. A wise old Mexican once said, "Everything happens for the best". I believe it and it makes it easier, when your life has a change in it.

Or as Ron White says, "When life gives you a lemon..........make lemonaid and get some Vodka."

Keep your eyes on the horizon and hang in there.
