My son came to go deer hunting last Friday. Brought his youngest daughter with. That 11 year old girl is a deer spotting machine. Season opened on Saturday. All he was seeing was spikes and 2 points. Today would have been his last day to hunt. Yesterday morning he headed up the hill on the quad with his daughter, Just coming daylight. They were still well short of their planned hunting spot. The girl spotted some deer. He stopped the quad. Sure enough some bucks. A 4 point turned broadside. One shot. The deer was up hill about 200 yards. An easy drag down to the quad. There was a bit of a bank on the edge of the road. Backed the quad into it and slid the deer on to it. She held the horned and he pulled the hind quarters around. She had to ride the 5 miles or so home half sitting on the deer. They are both happy campers.

congrats to your son and big congrats to the spotter. Definately a future hunter The smiles tell it all

A friend of theirs gave her a 243. She has been shooting it already. So I think next year the deer are in trouble.
That is a great caliber for her. My daughter loves hers and took her moose with it with one shot. I have 2 rifle of that caliber waiting in the safe for the granddaughters as they come of age.
