So Adam was sitting all alone in the Garden wondering why all the other creatures had companions and he didn't. God took note and said, "Adam, how would you like a companion that will complement and complete your existence as a Man?"
Adam thinks about it and asks, "And what would this companion be like?"
God answers and says, "She will be the apple of your eye, so lovely to look at, so soft to touch, so comforting when you are troubled, keep your house spotless, make meals that are without compare, sex whenever you feel like it, bear your children and look after them, provide stimulating conversation always - just the perfect companion for you."
Adam thinks for a bit and asks, "What would we call her?"
God replied, "We will call her 'Woman'"
Adam sits in quiet contemplation for a while and thinks that anything this good must come at quite a price. So, after giving it long, deep thought, he asked God again, "And what would this 'Woman' cost?"
God replied, "An arm and a leg."
Adam sat thinking deep thoughts again and finally spoke his next question -
"And what can I get for a rib . . ."
