Sorgum/sedan silage.

Help Support Ranchers.net:

Funny!!!

We have fed it, and it is great feed. Its like anything else you put up for feed, putting it up right is as important or more than what it is. You can put it up to late in the season and loose energy, protein, and moisture. If the moisture isn't right, then the pack won't be right and you will get spoilage instead of silage. But if put up right, then it makes great feed. It yields real strong as well.

When I was working for a guy in Kansas, he always chopped his sudan for the top of the pile. Always said that if it was growing good, with the high moisture content, it packed tighter then corn, and sealed the pile better.
Dad always green chopped it, and fed it to cows right before weaning. Made good feed.
