Rockyview Hotel, Cochrane, AB. Built c. 1903...
wild Brown-eyed Susan
Looking east along the Bow River
Looking west along that same river
Cow-hide (or patterned) couch in front of a false barn front (inside the Cochrane Ranche House)
Larger-than-life horses in the Cochrane Ranche House
Horse-drawn cutter (I think it was a JD)
Cutter inthe foreground with the hills in the back
Neat rock formation (sandstone)
Looking yonder to the blue Rocky Mountains
Brands and people who lived around the area (there was a whole wall of this...wall was ~10' x ~50')
Another neat rock formation (there was another one, a little smaller than this, with iron-deposits in the water pooled in this)
S'more scenery
Cowpuncher and cowhorse statue
That's how high up we were
Some of you hill-folk who live up around there might find these pics boring, but for me, a Flatlander, I find it completely amazing. The climate, the landscape, the vegetation...everything is sooo different from what it's like back at home 500 miles north of where these pics were took.
I'd love to live there someday.
