Supposely using a red light prevents cannibalism...pecking each other...in chicks....I haven't used one or had any problems yet.....but am afraid to use one in fear my pullets won't grow up to be wholesome self-respecting lady-like hens.....hahaha...
I may be using them here shortly, but just have clear bulbs right now. Starting in on making brooders...
