Starting a ranch

I think that was a great post, Tom! I wish I could word stuff like that! Almost all of that hit home here!

I find it hard to type a single thing about starting a ranch without it sounding like a pity party....lol.

Another reason for me not posting much is I'm not going to have any cows after this year. It's from my own mistakes and all my fault. I'm still going to keep at it though with stuff learned along the way..... :D .

I like your post Tom. I to agree that buying ground is far better than leasing, but at the prices right now that is pretty much impossible for someone to just start ranching or farming by buying a piece of ground.

RA, you are going to sell your cows??? If we lived closer, we'd just
buy them from you!

Well, I appreciate it!... :D I'm not real happy with what I have yet and wouldn't feel comfortable selling anything private anyway... :D . Living like a rock star too far into my cow loan payment is catching up to me.... :D . I feel I can live off of very few cows now though, I just need them free and clear... :D . I am keeping something to feed out and still may be able to keep any where from 1 to 2... maybe up to 10 of them. Gosh I wasted a lot of money at the start ('10) and paid off old debt and feel I bought a bad start up herd with only having a few of them left and mistakes mistakes! I still feel stupid on here with no more head than I have and the money involved and do feel more at home on message boards with people that have a yard in town....lol. I basically just have a nice sized yard on here!!!... :D :D :D Dang, I should have a lot more cows right now though and more land. Oh well... :D I am pretty set up to eat well now reguardless.... :D
