Well Lil Lilly was sittin good the first go, with a 16.373 on Cash, and someone came in and ran a 15.127 which knocked her completely outta the money on the first day. Toilet Paper brushed the first barrel this day, and it tipped.
Second go, she had two really good runs on Cash and Toilet Paper. But landed in the crack again. (Crack = no money) LOL
There were 491 runners each of the short go's. She didnt make it back to the finals on Sunday which meant an early trip home for us.
Really happy with her runs tho. She gives it her all every time she enters the arena. Heard some folks sittin close to us, talkin about holdin a horse back, just so they could hit the money slot. Which I guess would work sometimes, and other times not. But most barrel racers will tell you, they go in to make the fastest time possible on their horse. If it wins money that's a good thing, if not, that's ok too. You are your own competition at this sport, tryin to better your times, and improve your horses. So...all in all we had a great trip.
We'll load up again the end of this month and go back to Waco for WBR.
We did go look at another trailer Monday mornin. It's nice, with full livin quarters. So we won't be so cramped. Mr Lilly volunteered to sleep on the floor this time. LOL Three nights of that, and he said, if he'd had to spend one more night on the floor he thought he'd have had bedsores.
