statistics lesson for liberals.

from a friend..

It took me a few minutes to find the original article,.. I had to sift through a ton of DU and others who claimed it wasn't true by imagining fake organizations to attribute the article to instead of doing a few minutes of research to find the real source. .. many including snopes and fact check said the article didn't exist..

it does..

they deal in emotions, not facts.

another example, my own.

if 1000 women in a population of 5000 are at "risk" of becoming pregnant and decide to have the baby, if they did become pregnant(the others get "free birth control), at a cost of $1000 per birth, then the total cost of births in the population is potentially $1 000 000. The insurance companies will charge those 1000 less than that for premiums, to cover child birth, because they know not all those at "risk" will become pregnant. Let's say 800 births at $1000 divided by 1000(at risk), which equals $800 per individual at risk.

BUT, what if insurance companies were able to charge the total population(5000). They could charge half as much per individual, yet, still cover the $800,000 actual cost?

The 5000 would be counting their lucky stars that they only pay $500 per individual for birth coverage, to have the same number of births.

"WOO HOO, isn't socialism great, we're our brother's keeper"

"Hey wait, we just paid $2.5 million, for a cost of $800,000"

"some of you will see prices go up and some of you will see prices go down, but everyone will be covered."

I hope everybody bought stocks in the insurance companies, as I suggested. But make sure you sell before the whole system crashes.
