Gosh not a single self declared Republican commented on this but they are quick to jump on any financial foible, however small, by a Democrat :)

I like him, but, He should resign.. even if Steele can prove it is a false allegation by a convicted felon..

BTW did you notice how Obama paid back Richardson and Daschle, for thier early support of him on the trail... by throwing them under a bus...

Vickie E. LeDuc, a spokeswoman for the United States attorney’s office in Maryland, said Saturday that the office had unintentionally given the document to The Washington Post, which first reported the accusation. Ms. LeDuc would not say if Mr. Steele or his sister was the subject of an investigation. “The document was inadvertently provided to them,” Ms. LeDuc said.

the office "unintentionally" and "inadvertently" provided the document to the Washington post. ???

sounds like a "Karl Rove" type hit job...

I'm sure Mr. Steele doesn't fit into the Rovian ideal of who they want leading the party that Rove so effectively and disastrously changed....

Actually he held on to Daschle too long. Daschle would have been a great Sec'y of Health but his tax issue was too much for anyone to overlook, compounded with having been paid for consulting by Healthcare companies who he would have to regulate...

it looks as if the "jobs" were payback for the early needed support and if Daschle was indeed the "best man" for the job then Obama should have defended him..just as he did the other tax cheats,.. but the fact is it was political payback,, and business as ussual in washington... so as soon as Obama could dump him, Obama threw Daschle under the bus..

It'll be Steele's bad luck to be in the midst of a lot of nasty mud slinging by both sides, sometimes for behavior that is likely commonplace.

Let's get the facts out in the open. Unlike the Democrats who like to hide things, lets discuss them, not hide them.

Commonplace, that makes it right to you Reader?

This is serious stuff Reader, this isn't business as usual! The US is on the brink of bankruptcy, and it's his "bad luck", that he is caught in "commonplace"

That's the problem, some deem the "normal" to be right! (the dumbing down and morally wrong)

Stand up for your country for once, and ask some questions, or make a statement that is at least, designed to question some thought!

Nope, I'm saying it's got to be investigated, which it is?

My point is that we're fiddling while Rome's burning and continuing the pissing contest that began with the Supreme Court nominees being dissed first by the Dems and then in retaliation by the Republicans.

I think I said it better:

I like Steele too. I bet that this is standard practice to reimburse people who give you money in ways that are from a legal standpoint not totally "kosher". It'll be Steele's bad luck to be in the midst of a lot of nasty mud slinging by both sides, sometimes for behavior that is likely commonplace.

Just because it's commonplace in Washington doesn't mean it's proper. There's way too much impropriety in that town that is commonplace.

I get a little leery of these kind of stories, especially when they come through the mouths of felons.

Secondly it really does not matter to me because Steele is not an elected official representing me in any official capacity.

Thirdly if they are true and can be proven then Republicans should remove him from his position for their own sake not for mine.

All this is assuming she got paid with out performing work, not that she was given work!
