Steers sold great

Had a customer sell yesterday at Philip Livestock. They weighed 800 lbs and sold for $100.25. Dad was there and said they looked very nice and was carrying a real good bid, but never came close, as they went higher than what we had. It just goes to show that buyers will find the good ones these days. I am seeing that at all these bull sales this spring as well. The top end sells great, while the bottom end isn't selling or they are just giving them away. Probably should be that way though.

You are right about the cream rising to the top. A guy I know sold his last week. Steers averaged 912 pounds and brought .92. They were a solid, uniform, soggy bunch of calves. Black Angus background.

Ya, they were Gaikowski's, we actually bought them for a customer in NE. They have some outstanding cattle.
